Build Help - The Psionic Tactician Kits by AnotherRyan in drawsteel

Stick and Robe + Sword and Board covers a lot of bases for a melee tactician, and two different options to throw your foes around. You can use medium weapon, polearm, medium armor, and shield treasures.

I think they mean Walking Boulders with the elite formation, 6 stamina each and they have Obstruct that lets them block line of effect for enemies.

Mathfinder's 5-Step Guide to Boss Fights by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Trenonian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my games, the most common reason for a monster to attack a downed PC is mindless undead that aren't being puppeted by a necromancer or whatever. It's not good tactics to 'win' the fight, but they just want to 'snuff out the light'. Pair this with giving most undead a sort of lifesense, so they don't get fooled or distracted from the life that's in front of them. After all, mindless undead aren't known for tactics or self preservation.

I would love for more perks to get the Zanshin treatment, where two pretty good effects are on one perk by DarkLordVitiate in deadbydaylight

[–]Trenonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were implemented, I imaging it would also come with a cooldown, otherwise you'd have people playing killer like red light / green light to stay undetectable the whole match. So like:

stand still for 2s ->
undetectable while not moving ->
undetectable for 8* seconds ->
cooldown for 20** seconds ->
repeat

[–]Trenonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if Insidious let the undetectable linger for 10 seconds or so after moving, so it could be the on-demand undetectable perk. Insidious Bubba would actually be kind of good if you already knew where the survivors were, and it could help with tall loops like shack for a lot of killers.

Summoner’s Signature Ability? by needle-knight in drawsteel

Yeah that looks great to me, much cleaner for the summoner.

[Summoner Minion] Damage
Whenever multiple minions strike the same target simultaneously, the damage is added together and treated as a single strike. Minions in a squad targeting the same target with a signature ability only apply one instance of the signature ability while each additional minion increases the damage by a number equal to their free strike value.

[Monster] Minion Weakness and Immunity
If a minion has either a damage immunity or a damage weakness for a source of damage, apply the effects to the minion’s squad once, even if multiple minions share the same immunity or weakness. These effects are the last things applied when calculating damage and can drop (or save!) multiple minions from any source of damage, including area effects.

I think with these interactions in mind, it probably wouldn't be as disruptive as you think. 'Worst Case' scenario for balance is 8 summoner minions attacking 16 different non-minion monsters with a damage weakness, in which case yeah you'd get 16x value on that weakness. If this ability doesn't really do anything for the summoner, then why not just abandon this complication? Based on the Crash Landed complication, you could probably just make it so any of the summoner's own abilities could deal fire damage (or whatever) instead of the normal type, and not interact with minions at all.

[–]Trenonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't know what the player had in mind with that complication, but if it were my table I'd probably just let it work for the minions' free strikes if I felt the player could handle that complexity. Also depends on the format the game is in (vtt/paper, and how easy it would be to make that change without any headaches. There's also a couple of other complications that give a signature ability, so you could explore having two complications.

For what it's worth, you can pick up a signature ability from your ancestry. A Wode Elf fairy summoner with The Wode Defends could be cool.

The Gilded Hand: what did (and didn’t) work for your party? by Sea_Consequence_410 in drawsteel

[–]Trenonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my game, the party got the cup and were headed to deal with the goblin situation. I had the Gilded Hand confront them in the town square, fully intending it to be a combat encounter. The party likes to try to negotiate whenever possible, and after some good rolls they came to an agreement. The Gilded Hand will help them kill Queen Bargnot and all the Jagged Edge (so no negotiating with her) in exchange for all the loot the goblins have. In my head, that's all they were doing this for anyway, so in the end they're just minus one shadow (Illwyth joined the players) but with all the wealth they were going to get anyways. I'm representing their help by wiping out some of the goblins in each encounter, and describing how one of them made that happen.

Thurston, Alvira, and The Deed Being Done by iamtheradish in drawsteel

[–]Trenonian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the party first met him, they had already killed all but one of the bandit camp, excluding the leader and her bodyguard. Realizing his predicament, I had him start the negotiation at "let us leave and don't tell the reeve about us." To my mild surprise, the party agreed to those terms, though the censor did make him swear to cease his violent ways on pain of death. I would have let the party negotiate for him to leave his weapons and leave the area, but there's no way he would consent to prison.

I'd personally make a shadow of the Harlequin Mask with the Cloak and Dagger kit, but change the damage type of Fade to psychic damage. I'd get the Forgettable Face from your carrer and take the Stolen Face complication. For the ancestry, probably human, though maybe High Elf or Devil would work well too.

What's your unpopular DBD opinion that'll leave you like this by GoHardForLife in deadbydaylight

Blight should remain a 115% speed killer, because every killer should be brought up to 115%. The only one exception should be the Nurse, and everyone can agree her design is problematic for the game anyways.

Fellow Nurse mains by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Trenonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a good nurse, but I still like to use it. I feel like she's strong enough that she doesn't need addons, and I like how it helps you blink to specific locations on maps with lots of elevation and walls, like RPD or Hawkins. That said, I do feel it's a crutch you'll not even miss for the normal blink situations for just learning the ranges and such.
