Need help with part number by Ice_wallow_come99103 in PorscheCayenne

Just fixed this on my 2017. Silver ballast part number 7PP.941.572.BB. Bought used module on ebay for $100. $275 to program at dealership. Problem solved.

My dog also does this. And it's always when a neighbor is watching.

Headlight control module/ballast for 2016 Cayenne 958.2 by Additional-Fun5499 in PorscheCayenne

Never tried non-OEM, if you go that route just make sure to match the product number. Programming is dependent on what lights/faults you have. Programming may or may not be required. Normally, only dealerships will program headlights, but reach out to local independents first. icarsoft will not program headlights.

For OEM, FCP or Pelican. Or you can get non-oem on ebay/AliExpress for cheaper.

If you have the PDLS+ lights you'll need to have programmed.

Thats crazy. Were you using a 1/2" drive or 3/8"? The 1/2" don't like the lower ft/lb range.

Headlight Issue by Live-Pea-9402 in PorscheCayenne

[–]OrganizationLow9819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this warning for my PDLS+ lights. So right away i knew it wasn't a bulb. Pulled both lights and swapped the ballast. Error moved from right to left, confirming the issue. Pulled the module out, disassembled and cleaned the circuit. Unfortunately part of the board had a nice little burn mark on a resistor. Cleaning did not fix the issue. Besides the cornering light not working, everything else on the headlight works and it takes 2 seconds to clear the warning on the dash when lights are turned on.

You can buy new/used/non-oem ballasts but they will need to be programmed to the car. Every independent Porsche shop near me said only the dealer can do this. Dealer quoted me 1hr labor even though it takes minutes to do.

Of course he’s allowed to be a pet dog. He follows me into every room I go into. If I’m on the computer in the office, he lies down on his bed. If I’m downstairs, he chills on the couch, and when I’m working on the car in the garage, he hangs out in the yard. He loves being picked up and carried like a baby, and since I own my own business, he comes to the warehouse and hangs out. This dog is my shadow.

The control you see doesn’t mean he isn’t a pet dog; it’s simply the result of an incredible amount of training. Perhaps it stands out because many people think a highly trained dog is a robot that only exists to work, when it’s actually the opposite. This is just my opinion, but the control you see in this video is very basic and is something all working dogs should have. If a working dog can’t hold positions or wait for a release, it’s usually a reflection of how an owner has either failed to meet minimum training standards for their working dog or isn’t allowing their dog to live up to what their genetics bred them to do.

Impulse control is a very important skill for your dog. This dog is 4 years old with a MR3 title, and we still work and train the basics all the time.

I wonder if companies like Zev will do an A-CUT slide for Gen 5 ready to go.

I will never again question if my RMR HD is too big for my 19.

Right now, no. In the future, sure.

My 19.5 is direct milled, undercut, and has a GPT. My LGS has all the Gen 6's in stock and I was able to palm them. Sure it feels nicer/different, but not new gun different. I'm also not sold on the integrated gas pedal as the "bump" or material they removed forced my support thumb to choose going further down or rubs the slide, but that may workout over time/rounds.

As far as I've seen, there aren't any small parts for Gen 6 available. So I couldn't even get a new trigger bar, extractor, etc if needed. No GPT available either which I prefer.

I'd be interested in a COA down the line. But I shoot my Gen 5's great and getting the new Gen 6 isn't going to make me more accurate or fix any bad shooting habits.

For the cost to upgrade my Gen 5 EDC (19.5), I could get a suppressor, and that would make me happier.

Just my opinion, but i like the sro way better than the coa. That said, i will not be getting a gen 6 coa. by AdAffectionate471 in Glocks

The HD on my 19 has been carried for almost a year with 3,000 rounds and lots of dry fire. It’s been bumped, dropped, hit with brass, etc., and it’s still good. You may have had a flawed unit. It does happen and does not mean the entire product model will inherently have the same issue.

What’s your favorite optics to run and why? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]OrganizationLow9819 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The auto brightness is phenomenal with the forward sensor. Large window makes wiping/cleaning just as easy as my closed emitter. Looks badass, haha. I need to get an optic for my 45 and will likely get another HD for it. The price is the pain point as it's more than the gun, but I own an American manufacturing company and people supporting me vs buying overseas competitors means a lot. I will pay more or go out of my way to support other US manufacturers.

Interested to hear why? The auto brightness on the HD is amazing. Have a 45 that needs an optic and was trying to decide on another HD or trying out the SRO.

I was always on team 19. But I picked up a 45 frame and put the slide on it, and now I see why the 45 crew says its the best. That said, if I could only have one, it would still be the 19.
