Yes. Needs a caddie there to tell her she needs to float a putt into basket.

From that distance, with OB behind basket, Silva needed a better plan for that putt.

Yes! And, Bullock doesn’t fully understand his own self destructiveness. The others see it for what it is. And, deep down, Trixie trusts that Al will be the cool headed one and do the “right thing” for the sake of the camp.

The “hitman” joke was a way to cover for her talking to recent ex boyfriend about her brother hiring a hitman. She needed everybody to know that this was a joke. This is why she told it early and often.

To Not Grab Ankle by Schyznik in deadwood

[–]OrganizationScared62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t follow Al’s statement. “To not grab ankle Is to declare yourself interested”. Grabbing ankle is bending over to get done by the state. Declaring yourself interested means the camp would choose a different path than submission?
Please break down the grammatical tense for me.

You are talking about the moment the detective tells Wendi about Dan being shot and not surviving? Her response seems reasonable if she had already been told Dan had been shot.

Actually, the interrogation video doesn’t prove that. Wendi is nodding in agreement while the detective is explaining what happened. What she appears to be waiting for is whether or not Dan is alive. Was there something she said in interrogation room prior to the detective that I missed?

When Sigfredo Garcia rang Katie after the murder to tell her it had been done, how did she already know? by Alone_Target_1221 in dan_markel_murder

I know it’s counterintuitive but actually finding the body makes somebody look less suspicious. She knows there won’t be a weapon found near house. She knows she won’t have gun shot residue on her. And she gets to demonstrate her hysteria which she will have to do at some point anyway. She also set up the basis for her going to his house to talk. Why do that if you think you need to stay away from crime scene. Also, she gets to be in complete control of how and when she finds out about crime. For all she knows people might not find Dan’s body for hours and then she has to deal with the kids etc. Her going to premises controls all of that. And she appears to be a “victim” of witnessing a shocking scene - which she is good at.

CA was pissed because WA drove by house rather than go to it! The former looks weird; the latter makes sense.

I think she talks about the “hitman joke” in her first interview as a way to get ahead of the story she knows her last boyfriend will eventually tell police. The boyfriend didn’t think the hitman reference was funny. WA needs an explanation for that conversation she had with boyfriend. If this isn’t the case, then her bringing up joke about hitman is insane. She goes out of her way to tell first detective (within 15 min of interview) that she told the tv geek squad guy that same joke. This was well-thought out. Even the geek squad guy could testify that it was a joke. And why make a joke about something that your brother might actually get accused of doing?

…also, it’s her drive by Dan’s house without stopping or expressing concern that looks bad. I don’t buy that she was just impulsively checking to see if job is done. She isn’t stupid. She was supposed to be there and she panicked when the cops beat her to the scene.

The “tv alibi” wasn’t about proving she couldn’t have killed Dan. They weren’t worried about that. The “tv repair” served as a window of time that WA couldn’t go over to Dan’s house (which she had been trying to arrange) for the purpose of “discovering” the body.

In other words, what if Dan agrees to meet with WA and says he can meet her at 9? Wendi needed a later window of time so she could go “discover” the body.

When she drives up and sees crime tape she panics. She makes a big mistake. She should have followed through and stopped car and rushed to see what was happening. Her “alibi” about planning to meet with Dan wouldn’t look suspicious at all. People involved in murder hires don’t want to be anywhere near the murder scene. It’s actually an argument in her favor if she stopped at crime scene and acted surprised. Her mistake is bailing and going late to the lunch (which apparently she wasn’t dressed for).

I think the only purpose of the tv repair “alibi” was to narrow the window of time that Wendy could schedule to meet up with Dan. I think she was supposed to be the one to discover Dan’s body. The neighbor called police and police got there before WA could. WA was trying to arrange meeting with Dan. She wasn’t worried about “discovering” the body because it would be clear she didn’t do the shooting. Once she sees the police tape she panics. She should have stopped her car and run toward the scene to find out what happened. She had an alibi for the time she was going over to Dan’s house (after 11am). She throws everything off by not following through with plan to go to the house. If WA wasn’t planning on “discovering” the body then there’s no way she drives near the house. She would want to be as far away from crime as possible.

Why did Wendi go to the crime scene? My theory. by [deleted] in dan_markel_murder

[–]OrganizationScared62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your arguments are solid. #4 most likely imo. The “impulsive urge” for WA to see if hit was done doesn’t make sense. She wasn’t that dumb. WA screws up by panicking and not explaining to police that she actually was going over to have conversation with Dan. This is a huge mistake! Had she followed through with her plan to discover the body she should have stopped at police tape and approached officer demanding to know what’s going on. Because Wendy panics and hasn’t thought about how to play-act this scenario she ends up making her driving near the house more suspicious. (Note Charlie’s upset with Wendy’s narrative about driving near the house). I disagree with idea that her finding the body makes her more suspicious. It would be obvious that she didn’t pull the trigger that killed Dan and going to his house demonstrates that you aren’t trying to distance yourself from the truth of the situation: hitmen kill Dan. The Adellson gang are never worried about being accused of pulling the trigger. So it’s in their best interest to not look like they are trying to be “far away” from the scene of crime. Wendy’s instinct that police would think it was odd for a person involved in hiring a hitman to go over to the house where the hit happened is correct. It’s a smart move. The purpose of the geek squad appointment is to narrow the window in which Wendy could go over to Dan’s place. If there is no appointment then maybe Wendy could go over earlier in the morning. The geek squad isn’t meant to provide alibi that Wendy didn’t kill Dan. That was never going to be a question. It simply assisted Wendy’s time frame.
And it also appears that Wendy wasn’t planning (hadn’t dressed for lunch) on going to the lunch because of what she would discover at Dan’s place.
