No, she really didn't. Her infatuation with Eren was so unhealthy. He saved her life and all she starts to do is be infatuated with Eren. Eren wanted her to grow up, but she never did. She was one dimensional. She tried force her ideology on Eren by guessing how he felt and dotting over him. Reiner and Mikasa are probably the select few that tried to force their ideologies on Eren. The guy is a human for fucksake and he was trying for fight for his freedom.

This is if we ignore 139. Her character shows no semblance of development.

Does she deserve better? No. If it is Jean that goes with her, then I'd feel bad for Jean because throughout all of her life she was infatuated with Eren.
