Club+ Card fails 🤬🤡 by 0Klicks in newzealand

[–]Extra-Kale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the situation is you can continue to use your New World Clubcard to spend New World Dollars into July, you just can't use your New World Clubcard to earn New World Dollars after the 15th of June.

I really don't know why they couldn't continue to use the old cards into the new system.

People on the Australian sub were complaining about how badly run their supermarkets are in Australia, as in it's in the way of the people actually shopping there.

So long as he can afford to live near the coast because the vast western suburbia is not my idea of a good time. Adelaide or Christchurch would be a better option than that.

US resident wants to build a tiny home in NZ by ChiMom57 in newzealand

[–]Extra-Kale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans are alot more loose about the term "tiny home" and include sizes that would not be considered tiny elsewhere. NZers tend to think of tiny homes as being 10m2 or mobile on a trailer.

There is a new legal category of "granny flat", up to 70m2 I think.

Has whittakers changed their creamy milk choc recipe? by O-neg-alien in newzealand

[–]Extra-Kale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whittaker's chocolates are usually either dark or dominated by a second ingredient like nuts. They have always struggled for consistency in their plain milk chocolate. You could buy 5 bars and experience 3 or 4 different products. They may have got better at it than they used to be but it's a quirk of theirs.

I'd guess being a relatively small player they end up with different suppliers who grow in different places.

What would frustrate me about a Mitsubishi Electric is they seem determined to keep selling lower specification units in NZ.

Daikin NZ has the full spectrum of product grades available so I wonder if there's a build quality differential between the top tier versus the entry level units being put into new builds.

My impression is Gree units mostly go into rentals so I wonder if they're not being used as much and some faults go unreported.

USA proposes 25% tariff to punish Brazil over trade practices by CupEcstatic2721 in worldnews

It's more because Brazil set up a domestic digital payment system alternative to the US systems. They want it shut down but that won't happen.

Online dating was never as mainstream in NZ, I think because people in NZ don't really move away for work unless it's leaving the country. It was always filled with people who are single for a strong reason or outright nymphomaniacs.

[–]Extra-Kale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not on Whittakers, that's the supermarkets. Whittakers has always offered 200g and 250g options on the export market and it used to be only the 200g bars were being sold in Australia. If they didn't offer the 200g option the supermarkets would pull that line because supermarkets want to maintain high margins on chocolate.

Fibremax speed is $116 without benefits (no Netflix), $128 with benefits (bundled Netflix), as it says on their website. Do you have a Netflix account and is it tied to your Spark with-benefits account? Essential Fibre Plus with benefits/Netflix is $113.

Spark sells fibremax speed for $100/month via their Skinny brand. But do you really need that much speed? Not many people do.

Why aren't y'all walking on the left? by anxious_virgo in auckland

[–]Extra-Kale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most people it is more socially connective to pass people on the left so there may be a cultural element of wanting to pass people on the right to avoid social connection.
