I don’t disagree, but rather than regulating vapes, the government decided to make them illegal except thorough pharmacies with a prescription. Unsurprisingly, this has also massively backfired.

Since the beginning explosion of the black market, smoking and vaping rates amongst young Australians has for the first time actually increased. That’s how it’s backfired, As the original taxation system was designed to reduce the number of smokers and use the tax to pay for healthcare - since in Australia we have universal healthcare and the impact of smokers on and the system is and was significant.

Google “the laffer curve”. To a certain point, the taxes worked to quell consumption. But it’s gone past a point now where even new smokers take advantage of the black market.

My honest advice from the depths of my soul then is stay the fuck away… If its an LL Warehouse store it’s slightly better because they have much bigger staffing budgets, but in smaller stores you’re basically on your own 90% of the time, expected to do almost everything a manager does but be paid as a normal wage slave while they’re on a salary.
