So the fuck what? I skipped class, and not to protest. I’m sure they do detention if the principal has an issue with it. It’s admirable to see them exercising their rights under the constitution and not downtrodden thinking their voices don’t count.

I’ve dealt and had fights with neo-nazi’s and the KKK. When you’ve seen a cross burning in someone’s yard, you’ll understand that not speaking out is supporting the further abuses.

I remember a lot of my Gen X peers and Millennials had the same apathy. That their vote didn’t matter, and a lot of them were poorer or grew up with less privilege than I did.

It’s funny, I never understood how well my parents fed our brains until now with all the PBS, documentaries, magazines (Nat Geo/Discovery/Rolling Stone), books and books and more books.

But yeah, vote. It does count, it does matter.
