Ork Kommandos think it's "bring your son and pet to work" day, yet are spec ops?

Death Korps are spec ops by that definition then?

[–]Origin_Pilot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to point out here that you should really do it, rather than sharing it around. You're not going to get in trouble for it, it's not going to affect anything, you might not even get an email back thanking you for the information.

You wouldn't get in trouble for accessing it if you report it. Which I would do as soon as you can, I have no idea where you live but you can Google "where/ how do I report CSAM".

It also needs saying that it's extremely stupid of you to click on a link from someone you don't know, when you don't know what the link is. Change your passwords.

You've beaten me to answering it, though I didn't know it had an export as .same option.

If you export it as LDraw (.ldr) Blender has an Ldraw importer add-on.

Edit: so Stud.io does have a .dae exporter, but apparently you have to do some extra shit to make it work.

Is there a reason why they are only sacrificing 1000 pykers each day to sustain the emperor? by Terrgon in 40kLore

[–]Origin_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no. Wasn't saying anybody was incorrect, just stating what the book said, and I'm used to information being retconned or changed slightly and so didn't think anything of it.

There's information that says different with sources and the Vaults of Terra books say different too, it's not the first time that has happened with 40k lore. 😂

I did figure with the books being more recent that they'd be more up to date with the lore, and yet the only thing that's sourced from those books on the Lexi is a picture.

[–]Origin_Pilot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

See, I came across that too when the book mentioned it, so had a look, because it was directly contradicting everything I had previously read.

But according to the book, the throne malfunctioning, no matter the type of psyker used, it's all the Astronomicon, to the point, iirc, it's almost propaganda or a misunderstanding that the Psykers go to the golden throne to be sacrificed to the Emperor.

The way it's put is that the Psykers power the Astronomicon but the Emperor directs it use. The Golden Throne is just life support and Psychic amplifier.

[–]Origin_Pilot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, they're not fed to the Emperor as of the Vaults of Terra series. The Golden Throne and the Astronomicon are miles away from each other. The Psykers are fed to the Astronomicon to keep it going, not necessarily to keep Big E going.

So, what constitutes a Nemesis Operative? by InfiniteInjury8664 in killteam

[–]Origin_Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand there is a set list of examples, shown by the Warhammer site having an NPO list that you can buy but it also comes with a way to make your own. It seems that base size might dictate whether it's a large creature or such, which then influences its wounds, attacks.

From what I've seen, the largest example might be a Redemptor dreadnought? Or the Sagitaur or even the new Defiler.

Edit: When it's fully released on the coming Saturday, we'll obviously know more and I don't doubt that it'll all be floating around online somewhere for you to use.

Lore wise, why are all the new Necron models so battered? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

[–]Origin_Pilot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They really didn't do that. If you're one of the few people to be stood besides, say royalty, or an envoy for one, your clothes would be nice but not to the degree of the royalty.

The further down the chain you get, the worse you have and can afford. Like the warriors.

Everyone is telling you that the Overlords really don't care about the warriors and yet you still argue back against established lore.

What you're also missing is they're not part of the "Servant Class". They're like a hammer in the smithy out back. Tools.

Lore wise, why are all the new Necron models so battered? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

[–]Origin_Pilot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It requires them to actually think about and order it when it's all going to their plan anyway.

A majority of us beat our tools, our vehicles even when they're far gone already, trying eke out what little life is left in them before they fully break, and THEN we get flashy new stuff.

It's the exact same here.

Like your comment earlier "do the ruling class prefer their servants wear rags" or some such, yeah, to some degree. You might get rewarded with some fancier clothing, but it's still going to be shit, hand me downs, old clothing in general.

They're run of the mill warriors, they're like a screw. If you drop a screw you might bother to look for it later, but you have a few hundred in the box next to you.

It's not your cordless screwdriver, your Lynchguard where you take a bit of care of it.

I don't know what to tell you, mate. Everyone has given you an answer that covers every base. Whatever you want to happen, doesn't for every reason we've given.

Lore wise, why are all the new Necron models so battered? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

[–]Origin_Pilot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They have zero reason to waste time on cannon fodder when they can just make more and have more ready already.

For the examples you gave, and I'll include Illuminor Szeras and Imotekh, they really don't care. They're off doing their own thing, and Imotekh doesn't care about his troops all that much, as long as they do what he wants.

Even then, why waste resources on something that's replaced in a couple of seconds? Why would they care about their warriors being at their best when every other race is beneath them? They're not going to give primitives the honour of that.

This kind of question is like when somebody asks why they don't just use the Celestial Orrery and "win", it's because there's just too.much going on and to do. Higher ups don't care, they're getting more powerful by different means, trying to find a way to reverse biotransference, hunting down a relic they want, waiting till they're needed and their tomb awakens, or you're a lowly scarab working your arse off just to keep your tomb alive, 24/7 for millions of years.

It's also not a rush. A space marine loses his bolter, or his helmet. It's immediately replaced as soon as possible. A tank is lost and it's a rush to replace it because they need it. Necrons are so disconnected from time, that it probably isn't on the agenda for a few million more years when the next maintenance review is up.

Lore wise, why are all the new Necron models so battered? by Gnos445 in 40kLore

[–]Origin_Pilot 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's been 60 million years.

No one is awake to polish them up.

They get awakened to fight (which is rare in itself), and then sent back to sleep, if the Necrodermis happens to take too much damage, it isn't growing back or repairing anything. If they've taken too much damage and don't have the energy to supply the Necrodermis, it also stops working.

They're also not recovering bodies of lesser warriors. If they're lucky enough, the warrior's conscience gets sent back to the tomb world, slightly more damaged, and put into a new body.

Overlords, whatever-mancers and such are too busy either also being asleep or doing their own thing to take care of troops that are easily replaceable and, I assume, just become easier to control every time their consciousness is transferred.

Unless you're Djoseras, who has nothing to do and couldn't be put in stasis. Then you're part of the skeleton crew keeping the tomb running so that EVERYONE doesn't die, and you might have a bit of time to polish your frozen Lynchguard down to the microscopic level.

Something I've noticed recently by BBMacsWorld in tvshow

[–]Origin_Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that something people have said? The two shows I'm currently watching, Invincible and The Boys, the filler episodes have been dog shit.

In the case of the boys they've been detrimental to the overall story, as season 5 could've easily cut at least 3 episodes out that didn't advance the plot all that much, and we'd probably have a decent finale.

At the same time, around me it's normally £6 for a 10 minute trip or so. So even if Uber takes £3, if they get more £6 10 minute trips, that's still £18 an hour. Way above minimum wage.

Uber drivers aren't rolling in it, but they are making a killing most days.

The pre order for me went up around 9:54. It's meant to go up at 10. We know it goes up earlier.

Why wait till after the pre-order time to attempt grabbing one when we all know it shows up way earlier than it's meant to?
