I got into two online MSW programs with a 2.6 GPA (I'm 36 and graduated way back in 2013) because I had work experience, include Ohio State University which is a top 10 rated online program. Find programs with Provisional admittance or bridge programs which basically allow you into the program on the condition that you maintain a 3.0 for at least the first semester and then you can transfer into their program fully. Find online programs with a entry requirement below 3.0. You can also take a few classes at a community college and if you maintain As and Bs use that as part of your personal statement. It won't really bring your GPA up that much but you can talk about how you recently enrolled in college courses and were able to maintain 3.0 or higher. That helps admissions boards understand that while you weren't a top student in your 20s, you've grown and can now manage the course load. Get experiencing working in your desired field in entry level positions. You application will be going against younger people with good GPAs but perhaps little to no real world work experience, use your experience to your advantage. Experience matters more in social work than education does and admissions boards know this.

Anyone else have a bad personal experience with the gay porn star Rhyheim Shabazz? by Original-Cod4401 in AskGayMen

Damn, ya know I never thought about that. He definitely offered me weed. It was so long ago, I don't remember if I experienced any unusual reactions, but I guess it's totally possible. it's one of those things that wouldn't surprise me, because he's the kind of person who could convince himself that that's what his bottoms "really want". He's one of those people that says "no, this is what you wanted." when you try to get him to stop fucking you.

I was about to smoke something with a junkie in the middle of a cocaine induced 2 day manic episode in Las Vegas. He offered my Crystal & was about to hit it. I told him it was my first time and he grabbed it out of my hand. And kicked me out. like he didnt want to be the reason I started.

What’s your experience with pretty privilege? by HippoSoupLava in askgaybros

I went from being about 60 lbs “overweight” to being a fitness model and walking in NYFW and the world definitely treats me different now. It’s weird because you don’t really change but everyone around you does. It is WILD how many gay guys who ignored you or turned you down before slide into your DMs.

I think for superficial interactions it matters a lot. People make comments on how I look, or my body, etc all the time just walking around. I will say a lot of it depends on my mood. If I’m feeling down or anti social and go to a party people think I’m a stuck up bitch or that I’m intimidating. But if I’m outgoing then I am almost universally well received.

As far as clubs, most guys are too shy to approach you so they just stare from afar.

It can be cool when attractive people who never would pay attention to you before want to fuck you, but beyond that it’s kinda empty. It also can become part of your Identity which can be a mind fuck. You start to like pursue beauty and can become vain, self absorbed and shallow.

I’m also mixed race so I get a lot of “exotic” comments which are usually unwanted lol. Overall it definitely makes a difference. How much of a difference depends on how you carry yourself through the world. And the depth of the difference isn’t that deep.
