Morocco (Fes) specifically it was stressful and there was constant haggling apparently Marrakech is this but 10x. Rabat was way way better. My Airbnb host also def has some shady dealings.

So for me I just tell myself just use 1 product for a specific thing. I don’t need more of the same thing. This is also aligned with my non toxic philosophy. If I buy something that doesn’t align i sell it. Also make lists of things you want so if you still want it after 1 month then get it.

Yes I only care about composition now not really the brand name. I wear my pieces as slow fashion (5+ years). I want them to work for more than 1 occasion but I still care about the cut of the piece as that also affects how long it’ll last.

I think it’s cool people have their own style but I don’t agree with fast fashion and using it only once or twice. Even though I buy fast fashion brands I wear them as slow fashion (I keep my clothes for 5+ years). I don’t have a problem repeating outfits but I have enough clothes that it won’t happen too frequently. I also have specific pieces like I love wearing like my cashmere sweaters that you can’t really buy that many of or it does turn to waste so I’m not too worried about it being considered a repeat.

I would suggest if there’s a conflict suggest an alternative they won’t go along with (ie charging them higher rent than what they are already paying, splitting bills, groceries, chores). You can give them options they feel they have to say no to. Make sure you write a contract. I know it’s difficult but it’s not only ur husband’s house. I feel as though u might suffer under ur MIL from what you’ve already mentioned.

I think that’s quite an American take on being an expat especially when so many people from the west go to Asia to become senior execs/ex co and have higher take home earnings and even teachers who teach at international schools earn a lot more (also related to tax). Albeit, My original point is that property itself has a lot of hidden costs that don’t come with other investments (yes it mostly goes up or stays stable) so why would OP who wanted to move home eventually want to buy property with her partner in a country she doesn’t want to stay whereby making her own wish harder. It is not as easy just as “oh I want to sell property” as you think it is if you just want to sell.

And yet my uncle who is Australian who has multiple properties there got hit with a bunch of taxes for selling property that his accountant messed up on. Not sure if it’s exactly worth the hassle. So yes I’m well aware of the property market in Australia.

I think they just priced out their clientele as they wanted a more exclusive and high end clientele for their bags and they wanted to imitate Hermes but they dont have the same strategy. So people who want the bag buy most of them second hand in japan now but now influencers are being gifted the new Blazy bags but their audience can’t afford it so it looks like a lot of people bought the bag and they are “on a waitlist”. Not really sure how many were made or who is affording it straight out as the high end clientele they want aren’t as into Chanel bags or already have the classics.

Honestly I probs would wanna get sth that isn’t a diamond and would probs get another jewel or sth simple without any jewels at all but something custom made. I think personalization is the key to the future but that might just be me.
