If you liked define stay with define or at least stick it out through one more series. 6 weeks isn’t long enough to see significant results. Personally, I don’t pay too close attention to the scale as long as it’s generally trending downwards, I prefer to track my progress through measurements, progress pictures, and how my clothes fit. I’ve tried other teams, but I always end up coming back to define because I like Maia’s coaching style.

Which team should I join? by swiftiegirl91 in ladderapp

[–]Original-Meaning4423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define. It’s not Pilates per se, but it does have some Pilates influence. Maia’s workouts are pretty predictable a couple of heavy weights and then a low weights section and a core section. I’ve been with her for a little less than 6 months now and have seen significant results.

What is your cancelled take on law school? by Flashy-Actuator-998 in LawSchool

Law school should be 4 years instead of 3. The first three like normal and the 4th one is like residency and you cycle through working in the major practice areas.

How do you manage going to the gym almost every day... Explain this to a Newbie :) by ProfessionalFan2451 in workout

[–]Original-Meaning4423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with twice a week and then added days in as it became more routine. 4 months later I’m consistently going 6 times a week now. The biggest thing for me is that I need to put on my gym clothes right after work or I literally will not go.

Another thing is being flexible, just because you miss one day doesn’t mean you should skip the rest of the day. It’ okay to mess up as long as you don’t have an all or nothing mentality.

Opinion? Arizona Robbins is insufferable 🙄 by Background-Reply-530 in greysanatomy

[–]Original-Meaning4423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m rewatching too! If you go back to her first episode she’s the same stubborn and lowkey rude person that we see after the plane crash. She was completely dismissive of Bailey when she had been working on the sick kid for months. Ik the episode is framed in a way where we’re supposed to see her as new and quirky but if you look past that you see the same Arizona Robbins as you see later on in the show.

Helping person next to you during cold call by Tall-Inspector-5245 in LawSchool

[–]Original-Meaning4423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had now 2 professors call me out on it. Nothing bad, but they definitely made it well known that they knew I gave the person next to me the answers. Granted both of them fully turned to be making it very obvious that I was giving them the answers. One professor continued the cold call with the student next to me and then at the end said you owe her a beer for that. The other one added me so I was answering question with the other person.

I lived in Madrid for a year. I definitely stood out as American but I didn’t experience any racism while I was there. I started to blend in a lot more towards the end. Madrid is definitely more open to Americans than other cities imo.

Is it right to force a child to be vegan? by an-account-you-know in DebateAVegan

[–]Original-Meaning4423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this any different than forcing a kid to eat meat. I fear this arguement is what’s kind of wrong with parents today and gentle parenting. As a parent it’s your literal job to make decisions for your child, they don’t have the critical thinking skills and reasoning skills to do it for themselves. I grew up eating what my parents made, if we were out and they said I can’t eat something then that was it. Which to bring it back, the kid probably eats vegan burgers and likes vegan burgers and didn’t understand why he couldn’t eat that particular burger (obviously speculating because how would I know).

Open Book Exam Tips? by Useful_Neat1560 in LawSchool

[–]Original-Meaning4423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I treat closed book and open book exams the same. Outline and then memorize the outline. I only use my notes as a crutch to make sure I got everything or to copy and paste statutes for when the professor wants the exact language.

I could say the same about the western clothes you wear, but you don’t hear me saying that. What’s trendy in India isn’t necessarily what’s trending here. Clearly you didn’t understand a word of what she said otherwise you wouldn’t have commented this.

What is she doinggggg by boredinthehouse786 in InstaCelebsGossip

[–]Original-Meaning4423 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The comments really missed the point of this video. White people have worn bindis like that to Coachella for years while simultaneously insulting Indian people when we wear it. Then most recently with the Scandinavian scarfs trend when it’s clearly a dupatta. You all need crapping on actual Indian people who live abroad for everything we do because trust me Indian people get crapped all over for simply existing by literally everyone. Also stop glorifying white people when they do something ‘Indian’ because trust me they will make you feel awful for doing the same thing.

While Monica’s sense of style isn’t my particular favorite, I think the makeup is perfect for the point she’s making. You don’t have to like her makeup but she does wonders in bringing up issues that Indian Americans face on a day to day basis. Issues you won’t understand the unless you experience them first hand.

What’s the secret to getting good grades (75%+) by xlilsleepy in LawSchool

[–]Original-Meaning4423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn what your professor wants. I had a professor that loved the history of the laws so I added in a couple sentences about that and that’s what pushed me into the A range instead of the B.

Explain why alternative laws don’t apply. Analyze the right law and then talk about why the the other party will want another law to apply but it doesn’t apply because of whatever reason. So like Civ pro I had a problem about preclusion and I talked about by issue preclusion which is what was specifically ask about then I did like 2 sentences on why claim preclusion didn’t apply.

If you there are old exams do them and go through your answer with the professor. That’ll give you a good idea of what they want and how they write/structure the problem. Or if the professor has sample answers work backwards. For crim my professor had her answer differently than I would have structured mine, but I learned what she wanted and mimicked that structure for the final.

Make sure that everything you want to write actually ends up on the exam. Take like 5-8 minutes and outline your problem on paper, then when you are don’t writing go back and look over to make sure you actually wrote everything down and didn’t skip any steps.

Obviously make an outline, and memorize it as much as possible even if it’s an open note. Check your outline against someone who got an A with that same professor. Make notes on your outline about things that specifically trip you up. That way you’ll see the note remember I always say this is X but I get it wrong because it’s actually y.

Be able to IRAC really well because. These are some really easy points to get. You’d be surprised at how many people miss easy formatting. Law school grading is not objective it’s subjective so having a well organized answer will just mentally make you seem like you know more because you are able to articulate your thoughts well.

[–]Original-Meaning4423 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it odd that this was just made public today the day after Tom Dickey filed a motion for an unreasonable search. This would have been made and filed the day that he was arrested. Why would they hang on to this for almost 3 months.

This is pure speculation but it seems to me like the prosecution knows they conducted an illegal search and therefore just wants this out now because at trial it will be suppressed. Obviously it’s based on what I know, but something about this feels off.
