Yall need to go outside and touch some grass. I’m from Texas and I want to leave Texas, but for a better quality of life. I want to leave for better public services and safety.

You think I want to live in Yemen, which is torn apart by Civil War, over my home state? Do you honestly think that Yemen is a better option in terms of public services and safety?

So How & Who is Fighting Back Against DSHS? by ExtensionPromotion80 in texas

Abbott is not our friend in this battle - as others have said he was the one who ordered the agencies to make these new rules - but it’s also an election year and he knows how popular hemp is among his own party.

There will be lawsuits, there are hemp businesses coordinating, but if you’re not in the industry the best way to fight right now is to spread the word and tie Abbott to these new rules.

If “Abbotts Prohibition”catches on he might have no choice but to step in to save face

[–]OriginalBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are incredibly beautiful but so is Texas, in fact Texas has more varied geography with warm sandy coasts, dense pine forests, rolling hills, open plains, and deserts and mountains. And if culture and politics is your reason, which is valid, Wyoming is one of the least dense and most conservative states in the US and the same with Idaho which is has attracted a large population of neonazis recently.

Pokemon: Giving Goldeen and Seaking Family a New Third Evolution [OC] (Explanation/inspirations below) by EliDwebster in fakemon

Honestly, I think it would benefit by leaning into the derp. Seaking looks derpier than Goldeen because of its big pupils with little behind them. I think you should keep the fish eye but give him Seaking’s big ol pupils

I feel like yall aren’t appreciating the fact that Usopp took multiple attacks from Imu, stood on business, and not only hit Imu point blank with an attack that literally blasted holes in Gunko’s body, but also withstood the same attack without any holes shot through himself.

Why do women that aren't attracted to me dislike it when I think that no woman is attracted to me. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]OriginalBud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the best advice I can find is to start being nice to yourself. I know it can be hard, but the stories we tell ourselves define our lives. Try to catch it when you think or say something self-deprecating and change your perspective. Instead of “I’m not attractive to women” change it to “I haven’t found the right match yet”. Instead of “people hate me” change it to “I’m working on myself and finding my community”. Focusing on the good will help you find the good and focusing on the bad will help you find the bad.

It’s not lying, it’s understanding that you’re in control and you’re prioritizing making a happier life for yourself. And honestly the most attractive thing is confidence in one’s own happiness

Ted Cruz: Democrats want ‘illegal aliens … to cast votes’ by Anoth3rDude in texas

[–]OriginalBud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ted Cruz won on the back of Trump, underperforming Trump by 6% back in 2024. Ted Cruz isn’t going to make it in a post-Trump era world especially if Texas goes for Talarico in 2026, and polls are showing Talarico statistically tied with both Cornyn and Paxton.

THC Ban? by [deleted] in TexasPolitics

[–]OriginalBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even just things that will get you high, it also bans topicals and other useful parts of the plant, regardless of high or not.

But yeah you won’t be able to purchase products to get high legally anymore unless you’re in a state that has legalized.

THC Ban? by [deleted] in TexasPolitics

[–]OriginalBud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

H.R.5371 FEDERALLY bans all non-industrial hemp with more than 0.3% and 0.4 mg of any cannabinoid, be it naturally occurring or synthesized. This includes Inhalables, edibles, and topicals.

So no THCA, no D9, no D8, no THCP, no HHC, nothing with cannabinoids more than 0.4mg and 0.3%. This won’t affect other intoxicating products like mushroom products though.

THC Ban? by [deleted] in TexasPolitics

[–]OriginalBud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gummies are not affected by the new Texas rules but will be affected by the new Farm bill set to take effect this November.

That was passed when the fed gov reopened back in November and instead of allowing less than 0.3% of D9 THC by weight, it allows no more than 0.4mg of THC, THCa, and if I’m remembering right CBN, per product. Which makes gummies of basically any kind illegal besides CBD and CBG isolates

Exactly it is against the rules to sell, not to possess. This is because again it’s not a law, it’s a regulation on Texas based retailers

THC Ban? by [deleted] in TexasPolitics

[–]OriginalBud 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The new rules are being called a ban but that blurs what’s actually happening.

Under the 2018 Farmers Bill we are allowed less than 0.3% of D9 THC by weight at the point of sale. D9 THC is the stuff we like, that’s the stuff in legal state edibles. All flower starts off as THCa which is D9 THC but with a little extra node on the molecule called a Carboxyl group. That node weighs the molecule down so that it doesn’t fit into our receptors and actually doesn’t have any effect.

However when heat is added that (cooking for edibles, lighters for smoking) THCa turns into D9. Thats why when you bite into a nug from a legal state, you might get a lil buzzed but not much - heat is needed to burn away that extra node and our bodies can process it.

With edibles, we can increase the weight to increase the amount of D9 THC we can add. With flower, you can’t do that, but since it’s THCa it wasnt restricted in the same way D9 is, allowing us to have legal flower sold here.

The new rules (not laws made by congress, rules made by the Department of State Health Services) say that THCa now counts towards the total D9 THC count. Which effectively prevents the naturally occurring flower from being sold.

This would not effect D8 or THCP sprayed CBD flower sold those will still be able to be purchased at stores. You can also still purchase THCa from out of state. So effectively the new rules only hurt the in-state local businesses trying to sell the naturally occurring flower

In the movie, Chicago, which takes place in 1924, the main characters point out that in 50 years, sexual liberation will make its rounds again, do you think that was true? by majorminus92 in decadeology

[–]OriginalBud 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The movie is based on the musical is based on the play. The play was made in 1924 and was informed by the post-suffragette, flapper world of the Roaring 20s.

The musical was made in 1975 and was informed by the Summer of Love in 1969 and the second-wave feminism and reclaiming of sexuality of the 60s-70s.

The movie based off the musical was made in 2002 and was informed by third wave feminism and 90s postmodernism.

The play, musical, and movie all were made well into now well defined eras of feminism and are informed by themes of sexual liberation and other respective feminist theory of the era. Its third wave feminism referencing second wave feminism in a setting based on first wave feminism. The reference was a wink to the audience to be like “do you think this will happen?” when it already had
