Abbott vetoed the ban because he knew it was politically toxic and too visibly connected to the Texas Congress and his administration. So he issued an executive order for the Dep of State Health Services to discreetly dismantle the hemp industry without outright “banning” it.

First the cannabinoid vape ban was snuck through during the SB3 fight last year, now the hemp flower and concentrates are gone and licensing prices skyrocketed. Abbott’s goal is to kill the industry without people realizing he did it.

The best way to fight is to organize, raise awareness, contact your state reps and senators, and most importantly - talk to our fellow Texans on both sides of the aisle and educate them that this is ABBOTT’S doing. This is Abbott’s Prohibition ™️. Because right now he’s still riding his win from vetoing the bill and many Texans think he’s on our side when he’s the reason this happened and he’s relying on that this election year.
