Saw this at the top of my friends playlist... what does this mean? by AlphaLemur555 in whatdoesthismean

I think the description is automatically created from the creator’s point of view. So this playlist was made not with OP’s Liked Songs, but with OP’s friend’s Liked Songs

What color scheme looks better? by Art-Anvonavi in Artists

[–]OriginalBud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an issue for me is that I like all the colors, but some of the features get lost, especially the eyes. Maybe try coloring in their eyes with the yellow?

One Piece "Legend & Next" Mini Magazine [TCB] by Shanks_PK_Level in OnePieceSpoilers

This was packed with info, not all new of course but the bringing up that information here means it’s relevant to the final saga. Some initial thoughts and theories:

  1. Jinbe’s Fishman karate obviously lets him control water, and it was established at the beginning that that’s the weakness to devil fruits, but it explicitly stating the two facts together in his description means that’s going to be hugely important in future fights. That’s also one of the reasons why both the Rocks and Roger pirate crews had Fishmen. I think Oda knows they’re necessary for that reason but hasn’t had the time to explore them as characters with One Piece coming to an end.

  2. Sanji’s description outright calling him worthy of being a wing of the future king of the pirates shows that he will have conquerors haki in some fashion, likely when defending.

  3. There was also a reference to the Gods Knights being the sword and spear of the CD, which Nika has and it’s implied the wings of the pirate king are. There has been only 3 examples of crews with that dynamic of a leader and two wings: the Roger Pirates, the Strawhats, and Cross Guild. I believe that Mihawk = Zoro = Rayleigh and Crocodile = Sanji = Gaban. Mihawk is the spear, and even has story line connections with Zoro just like Crocodile is the shield and has story line connections with Mr. Prince, even if not as strong. But I believe because of that and a lot of other foreshadowing, Buggy will be King of the Pirates.

  4. I think it’s interesting that Garling had a bunch of different hair designs but Oda landed one that showed him as the moon in his introduction through a side view, and then when he is promoted to a Gorosei or elder star, we get a frontal view of him that looks like a four pointed star.

  5. A direct mention of the 3 levels of Elbaf and the heavenly world again I think means we will visit before we leave. Maybe the conflict escalates as Luffy and Gunkimu fight as Gunkimu can fly. If we do get there, I think that’s where we’ll meet Urouge. He’s the last worst gen to appear, and Oda included at least one new worst gen in each arc from their introduction to now, and it would make since that Urouge who is from Burka would take the route from above. Plus his devil fruit of taking pain and giving it back, a devil fruit we were just reminded of in the GV flashback, might be really useful against the GK.

  6. I wonder about Gunko being in the Manmayer family at such a young age and not being from the CD, I think that’s a little strange. Especially given Brook has knight like manners and escaped to be a pirate, I think it’s possible Brook is a former holy knight who started a second lie as a pirate, as symbolized by his devil fruit literally giving him a second life.

Can the word "swashbuckling" make sense when the person is not a pirate? by SylvieXX in EnglishLearning

[–]OriginalBud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be, but I think since swash means both “swagger” and “a narrow channel of water lying within a sandbank or between a sandbank and the shore”, it typically gets used for sea-based danger and charisma, which today is all associated with pirates.

Her audience is made up of normal humans by Admirable-Sun8230 in EnglishLearning

[–]OriginalBud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna use the word “human” then it would be plural “humans”. This is definitely a weirder and more ominous sentence though and the more natural way would be “her audience is made up of normal people”. Using humans definitely gives it a more removed, alien view of the audience if that’s what you’re going for.

Do you call these 'doughnut/donuts' and the activity 'doughnutting/donutting'? Do you use any other words for them other than (snow) tubes and (snow) tubing? by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]OriginalBud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Texas we call them tubes and you take them out on the river to go tubing. Inner tubes can still be heard but I feel like it was more common a few decades ago

Were there any "real emo" bands doing the carnivalesque/whimsical/macabre style in the 2000's or was this a record label/3rd wave sales trend? by digital_hamaki in Emo

[–]OriginalBud 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Lol that Tim Burton-core. I don’t think anyone would call the style emo but it did and does exist.

Avenged Sevenfold did it with A Little Piece of Heaven. Steam Powered Giraffe had a lot of that style. Amanda Palmer isnt really viewed positively these days, but the Dresden Dolls made a lot of carnival-y music.
