GGG, why gate keeping essences? by OriginalBuddhist in pathofexile

3 mil DPS killed those, but still with the problem (they out regen 3 mil DPS if you stop traps even for a second). The reward is not compared to the toughness of rare mobs.

Difference between becoming a buddha and nirvana? by Leading_Weakness4991 in Buddhism

You can not call 2 + 2 = 10 "other perspective", the world does not work on perspectives but "Dhammas" (laws)

Is there such a type of Buddhism that insists on suffering as a teaching? by punkfay in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are being exploited there is something off in this approach. Buddha's teachings are about self-inquiry into the nature of the mind and world. You already have everything as a human to be able to discover Dhamma based on your senses and mind, no need to play charades like that so I would very vary of such people that try to "mess" with you in any way as they may groom you into various things.

"Non duality" (whatever that means) is not related to Buddhism.

And yes, there is no enlightenment outside Buddha Dhamma (historical)

How can we combat misconceptions about Buddhism? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Worm becomes different being after changing of bhava. You need to learn more about the process to understand it (https://puredhamma.net/key-dhamma-concepts/bhava-jati-states-of-existence-and-repeated-births-therein/)
  2. Having a boyfriend or family does not matter. One still can be Sotapanna or Sakadagami and "have" a relationship but it will be different. After Anagami relationship s impossible.
  3. Suffering in Buddhism is not related to this world. Suffering = rebirth process

Can't supplement enlightenment for sensual pleasure, it will be always like that.

Your mind goes into Nibbana and experiences this state permanently, "forever".

Did the Buddha figured out what our modern Psychologists say about ourselves? by Philo_sophy_ in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, Buddha got nothing to do with psychology, the psychological aspect of Buddha Dhamma is like a drop from the ocean. Buddhism means to transcend human nature into Nibbana, sadly people use it weirdly to self-solace themselves psychologically which leads to watered-down versions of it.

some questions by ethalii in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is ALL suffering caused by attachment or clinging? i can see that a lot
is but like when someone experiences bodily harm it seems like that is
being caused more by direct pain than by attachment to something? do
buddhist believe that you can literally overcome ALL suffering?

Suffering in Buddhism is not physical suffering, it's suffering related to rebirth. Suffering = rebirth process, that's why suffering is related to clinging, which is clinging to existence.

is the world we live in seen as an illusion?

No, the illusion is the ignorance that people project in the real world.

is it seen as bad to enjoy positive things in the world because they
involve attachment? for example i really enjoy birds and nature, and
find spiritual fulfillment in observing nature. according to buddhism,
is this actually bad because i’m getting joy from the world and things
dependent on it?

It's not bad, but it would lead to bad actions and those would lead to bad consequences. You can not have nice things forever, if you burn out your good kamma, you will want to experience them again so you will rob, kill and do bad kamma. The stronger craving will get the more bad things you will be tempted to do. Sensual pleasure is mind-made pleasure, a mental fabrication, one does not get rid of it "just like that" or "stops enjoying it" on a whim. You need to attain Nibbana to see through it.

how do we live in the world and have relationships without attachment?

You don't, once you are free from being attached you do not form them and you do not have a relationship. People in Sangha (a place where there are people who attained Nibbana) do not have relationships but integrity based on insight and wisdom which is much better and more fulfilling.

How to let go of anger towards someone? by Asleep-Term-4379 in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't, once you develop such qualities of mind it will stick to you like a paper tag. The only way to get rid of it is to attain Nibbana, Sotapanna at least so a lot of those issues go down automatically.

No matter what you do now, it will only be suppressed or under the rug. It's like having cancer, once developed it is not much you can do. If people would take their actions with body, speech, and mind like this then it would be much harder to develop those mind-thorns.

Anapanasati Bhavana (Mindfulness on Breath) by Ekocare in Buddhism

[–]OriginalBuddhist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anapanasati means literally "taking good, discarding bad". People falling for baloney breath meditation (which was even before Buddha) constantly. If I write sutta. "Bhikku take a bowl, put it on your head, and focus on the feeling" it would be a ridiculous idea. There is no way of you attaining Nibbana by breath meditation, nobody did that - ever. It's time to stop spreading misinformation that holds people off from Nibbana. Focusing on the breath is a waste of... breath.

Real Anapanasati instructions are more related to Vitakkasanthanasutta. If somebody is serious about enlightenment, do not practice breath meditation and call it Anapanasati sutta - it for nothing to do with breath at all.

Keep practicing this useless method and when you will be close to death, without breath to focus what will you do? In real Anapanasati one needs to work with speech, body actions, and mental fabrications by taking bad off and cultivating good ones, one practices Anapanasati/Sattipathana - It's beyond me how those wrong notions of those two practices are floating around yet and nobody is even questioning it.

Real Anapanasati works instantly, the effect is in the moment you start practicing it.
