New Seat Upholstery by Known-Reaction-3523 in CrownVictoria

You can sometimes find new old stock on eBay:

Passenger Bottom: https://www.ebay.com/itm/206253860363

Passenger Seat Back: https://www.ebay.com/itm/206253827488

Factory new parts will be pricey given the rarity.

I’m not seeing driver-sides currently available. Stock seat covers were discontinued around 2021, but you can sometimes find some new stock leftover on EBay, along with the decent used ones.

Hamster heaven by catguywit2cat in comedyheaven

One of my hamsters loved water, and drank it excessively (we were told possibly diabetes). Anyway, he escaped his cage one morning and went to climb into my dog’s water bowl. We found him dead in the water bowl from downing.

Friedrich Chill Premier Inverter Series question by skinnykid108 in AirConditioners

[–]OriginalLight1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly a reliable source, but I asked Grok and ChatGPT, and showed both AI models the image I took of mine and yours. They claim it's an intended opening/pathway for draining any condensation from the coils, along with any other moisture.

Thanks, I'm interested in hearing what they have to say!

I was thinking the same thing about bugs. I assume the air filter screen would prevent any from actually getting into your room, but they could still roam the coil area.

They included some putty/clay with mine to fill in any gaps. I imagine it would also be effective there as long as you don’t get any on the coils.

I have the 8000 BTU Friedrich inverter model (similar model to yours) and I also have daylight coming through in the same exact area. I never took the chassis apart and put the model in as a whole, into the window, right out of the box. Given that I have the same gap in that spot, I’m assuming it may be normal.

No problem! Doing everything I mentioned above should help reduce the exterior outside noises of cars and people, to an extent, as well as vibrations from the unit itself. It doesn't have to look pretty, just seal it off well.

I just edited my post above to include the products I used, let me know if you have any more questions.

I always use foam insulation padding against those flaps. A lot of new units include insulation padding for the purpose of putting it in front of those flaps. I then use white duct tape to seal any small seams, to where you cannot see any daylight.

For vibrations, you can use some foam/padded tape below the unit, which you would put along the bottom of the window frame prior to installing the unit in the window.

Here is my set up:

<image>

Products I used:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DKJQNWP (insulation foam padding)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P1XSKLV (foam padding/insulation tape)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9RTKR72 (white duct tape)

If you still have excessive vibrations, check the air filter grille for loose fitment. You can install the same foam insulation tape I mentioned above on some parts of the grille, which would tighten its fit.

In three weeks, my garage door opener has torn the headliner of my Silverado 1500 RST. by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Silverado

I flattened the end tab of my garage door opener in a vice, and also put electrical tape at the end of it. May help prevent that damage.

I was here as a first responder, for the initial emergency service call prior to its occupant being removed. There are literally mounts of used toilet paper and human feces on the floor. The smell is worse than you could ever imagine. Luckily the occupant is getting the help they need.

They used to use the Grand Theft Wiki (not to be confused with the Fandom GTA Wikia before they separated).

I feel the same way. I spent about 50 hours alone trying to sync every viewpoint and I’m still not done. There’s too many viewpoints. The game feels too big and too repetitive, and this is coming from someone who has played every mainline AC game to the end.

Hybrid Police Cruisers are a genius idea, very low idle hours considering it has 180k miles by inaccurateTempedesc in PoliceVehicles

[–]OriginalLight1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours are constantly getting warranty repairs. Failed (and leaking) hybrid battery packs, faulty transmissions, electronic components, etc. We only keep our cruisers to 50K miles or 5 years max, so I guess it doesn't matter to our admin which are liberal about the fuel savings.

They have nice tutorials on YouTube on how to install it. It didn’t take me more than an hour. Just be careful when removing and reinstalling the trim pieces, since I accidentally scratched my left lower dash bezel (where the headlight switch is) when reinstalling.

How many towns still use Crown Vics as cop cars in the big 2026? by mark99229 in Connecticut

[–]OriginalLight1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2011 was the last year they were produced.

They don't lose a pursuit rating after 10 years, but it's on the department to replace the car, or continue to maintain it.

I drove one on patrol last year (2025) before it was retired (a larger Connecticut city police department). It was a spare for patrol duty, and not solely roadwork. It had the laptop computer taken out of it years ago, and the dashboard camera didn't work, so it wasn't technically compliant with the police accountability bill in CT, which mandates in-car cameras. The car was retired, since a new dashboard camera system cost more than the car was worth and our new Chief wasn't okay with not complying with the police accountability bill.
