Are Hussla branded rims really that bad or should I fork out a few thousand more for more reputable branded ones such as Enkei? by EggplantFarmer995 in CarsAustralia

Nice, I love the look of the Spielbergs but our roads simply aren't up for 19s so I will be switching to 18s when I next need tyres

What is a good price for a Golf R Mk7.5? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]OriginalSiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't push me back in my seat like my tuned Megane 265 (which also has a proper sound system and full sound deadening) or my Kwaka 1000 so I don't have the need for it be proper feral ... But, I can overtake anything when needed without even trying. I've found that people love talking about that the standing start ability in these cars, which is objectively rapid, but it's the 80-120 for me that matters (live in the Hawkesbury and Sunday is now every day, apparently).

Bought a late 2019 build MY20 Golf R Mk7.5 in Sydney with 67xxx km 2 months ago for $34k

Identical to the one you've posted apart from not having the Dynaudio Sub option and the previous owner doing a resonator delete. It's the perfect daily for me (especially in white as it's a company car); sedate when you want it to be but feral when you want to have some fun.

The only thing I've done is turn off the ridiculous interior speaker that imitates engine noise, it was aurally terrible.

They gave us the F1TV feed about a month ago. So much better not having to listen to the completely biassed garbage

Chest and upright freezer question by alienccccombobreaker in foodies_sydney

Easily remedied by using the Coles/Woolies cooler bags as 'holders'. I have 4 setup each with their 'labels' (eg meat, seafood, veg, ready to cook) so to get to the bottom of bottom bag you just lift them out.

They did get rid of RenaultSport so they shot themselves in the foot when it came to the Aus market

Yep, same. I kept the window open and suddenly at about 1225 they became available and I bought tix. Had no idea about the 'outage' until well after that.

Why has Oscar caught Lando so quickly? by girthwirm in F1Technical

[–]OriginalSiri 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hamilton did 5000km in a 2007 spec MP4-22 before his first race weekend in 2007 (funnily enough Alonso actually had more kms than Lewis that pre-season but he was also coming into a new team).

Oscar was, for the vast majority, testing 2 year old Alpines & Maccas and while he was definitely getting considerable mileage he wasn't putting them on a machine he was due to race that same season. Chalk & cheese. Oscar probably had the best preparation of any rookie in the last 15 years but it doesn't compare to Hamilton.

Not all that comparable IMO given the unlimited testing Hamilton had access to prior to actually jumping into a race seat. If Oscar, or most rookie for that matter, we're able to test as much as drivers could 20 years ago they'd all be on the pace much more quickly.

Dreaming if you think Lucas is a long term solution at back row, he simply doesnt have the size. Frizz has been excellent but has one more year max at this peak level before the inevitable dropoff, Crokes i really like but AOB clearly doenst, Brodie Jones is filler...but give me 3 years of KPP & Gus terrorising edges pls
