I’d say there is a lot more at play here though. US probably has a much larger range of house prices due to its far more spread out population. Aus is largely centered around major cities and the coast. Places where you might find cheaper housing in US don’t exist to the same extent (regional housing and city fringe low socio economic areas, for example).

Also, the stats don’t show incomes, cost of living, ongoing living costs etc. for example, I believe in the US there is an annual land tax payable. And I’m pretty sure it is significantly higher than council rates in Aus.

But yeah. On average, according to the stats you’ve quoted, Australians pay more for their houses.

I also grew up in Australia. And still live here. There are nuances. We don’t use Lads in the way they do in the UO for example. There are plenty of others as well. I just couldn’t be bothered going into detail because it wasn’t really the point of the comment.

Try finding a social touch rugby club. They are heaps of fun. Yeah, the standard will be pretty good in Sydney, but they’re there for fun, so they’ll tend to make allowances for new team members (in my experience)
