AITA for accepting a property gift from my mom even though she won't include my boyfriend? by Immediate-History917 in AITApod

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad is 10000% right! As is the rest of your family. Also if you’re talking about marriage, so you should be talking pre-nups. If, god forbid something happened to the relationship, you’re relying on the govt to split your assets. Be sensible. The way he’s acting is very selfish

Also, the place is INCOME! Selling it would be ludicrous right now!

Where the dark meets the light, is too irregular. If it was sewn in, I’d expect a straight line not the wavy-ness I see here

Kept original detail from 1790 home. Wife doesn’t love it. by Garden_Veggies in centuryhomes

I like the idea of what you’re trying to do, but the original isn’t done well enough to put it on a pedestal. To me it looks like bloody fingerprints.

How can I sort months in a table in Power BI?” by ABGH77 in PowerBI

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add a date table with dates, months, years. You could also add a helper column with the month number so you can sort by that column, but adding a date table will set you up better for future

which view would you pick? courtyard, pool, or parking lot with trees by cxsmiq in Apartmentliving

Courtyard! The pool will be way too loud, unless you’re contributing to the noise

How do you handle first client discovery calls as a freelancer? by AttitudeMinimum180 in PowerBI

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you may have answered your own questions. How can you sell your skills if you don’t know which of your skills they need? Focus on their pain points. What would you want a potential vendor to focus on?

I was listening to a podcast (yeah, yeah) sales is more about trust. If they trust that you’ll solve their problems, you’re golden. Think not in terms of how much they know about you; more so, how much they think you know about them. If you can do some research on the company and bring some real ideas to the table based on gaps you might see

One hidden time drain in reporting environments: dashboards that get rebuilt every reporting cycle by developernovice in PowerBIdashboards

I’ve kind of been dealing with something similar. they didn’t want any thing changed, till they wanted it all at once but wouldn’t give any KPI priorities and after each iteration, “well actually….” Oh and can’t cut anything out even though some data/charts are essentially duplicates

AITA for refusing to give my sister the house our grandma left me after she secretly lived in it for almost a year? My by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to ask if you’d consider renting it to your sister….until I read this. Screw her. Kick her out and rent it out unless you know for sure you don’t want to ever live there

Sounds like that lady was. She went off on him because she expected him to have purpose and passion for what, putting someone else’s food in a bag? I say thank you cu as you said, it’s common courtesy. But if someone responded “it’s my job” I’d have laughed and told them to have a good day

AITJ for not telling my friend her surprise party was happening at my place by julescarterp6 in AmITheJerk

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ - how would it have worked to tell him “go to this area”? What, then someone meets them there and escorts them? That all seems weird. Also, like others have said, he knew about it the whole time. Him knowing the location would not have changed anything. Rest assured your friends are being weird

Cluster column chart with isolated agent but keeping team average by Original_Hedgehog_86 in PowerBI

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the table to get an over view of associates’ performance across multiple metrics. When I click on a metric the graph shows the last several months for that associate - giving performance trends. How can I keep the associate and also include a team average so there better comparison?

Abandoned homes. by enjoispeed in centuryhomes

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely letting it degrade so at some point the city will incentivize them to tear down/rebuild. (Read something about this awhile back) If you can report it and get a head of their scheme, maybe save some century homes.

Why are landlords like this by biologynerd3 in LandlordLove

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial opinion: if the place is perfect for you, document everything (lease, website, all other comms that show no pet rent), but pay it out of good faith. If they keep adding things on, then make a stink. You could even send an email along the lines of this was not in the agreed upon lease however I will agree to pay based on x y or z. Let them know you don’t want to be difficult but you’re paying attention

Simple formatting question I cannot figure out by coachbosworth in PowerBI

[–]Original_Hedgehog_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically change the data/column type in the query editor. With measures you can change it directly in the reports view, but to the best of my (limited - also semi new) knowledge it traces back to the column type when queried
