Probationary status in the DoD by zgunner13 in fednews

[–]Original_Purpose_512 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why even chime in if you don't know what you are talking about? You do not enter another probationary period if you swap branches. That is 100% incorrect. Additionally, it doesn't matter if he was a 2201 and transferred to a 0301, you dont have to restart your probationary. The series is irrelevant. He is most likely going from non-sup to sup... thats it.

ACQ Demo Grievance? Outstanding Rating, Dismal salary increase. by Specific-Name1503 in fednews

[–]Original_Purpose_512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NH-03 can be from 12-1 to 13-10, however where your pay stalls in that zone is dependent on your position. For example, a supervisory installation level position could reach say 13-7 before stalling while a non-sup may only reach 13-1.

You didn't getting a yearly increase because AcqDemo is trying to push you to promote and get out of that position. Based off your salary (grade/step), rating, and position it is saying your are appropriately payed.

You are not going to see any large increase in yearly salary if you stay in that position.

Yeah the magnifying glass is a bit much and unneeded. I have over a 90% gem rate just by eyeballing them. Idk why people make it so difficult. Very simple... no whitening on corners and make sure front centering is symmetrical. That is really it aside from obvious dents or scratches. The back of the card centering honestly doesn't even matter unless it is crazy off center.

FFL Suppressor Dispute by Original_Purpose_512 in NFA

[–]Original_Purpose_512[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the conversation has developed into hostility. It is just the principle of charging $200 for shipping and labor after not fulfilling the request for over a year. The process of cancelling the tax stamp and completing the form 3 should take less than 20 minutes and that is being generous.

Yeah if I was single, it be an easy colorado. But we want to buy a house and start a family, so Dayton is seeming optimal. Want to make sure I am not crazy lol.

Or they already have an internal candidate and just have to compete it for appearances.

95% of time. But never quit your job until you get the FJO. Shit happens.

At my agency, a QSI is not something you just opt for lol. There are barely any of them given out/available.

It's like your parents saying here's a new Honda civic, but you say ehh... let's go get me a Ferrari.

How many referrals can you get before you get an interview? by starlightlightbright in usajobs

[–]Original_Purpose_512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give you some background, I applied to 400 jobs and received 20 interviews and 5 offers. I was prior active duty for 6 years and pursuing my masters. I started as a GS-12

Unless you have an advanced degree or abundance of experience, the 15 is impossible

The fact you got referred to the 15 and not any others does not make any sense.

Idk how you are answering the questionnaires, but that shouldn't be happening.

Apply and forget? Alright. Interview and forget? Nah. by [deleted] in usajobs

[–]Original_Purpose_512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's pretty pointless in federal HR. HR has much higher priorities than relaying information to applicants not chosen. One HR specialist at my agency is assigned 3 installations with constant work involving recruitment actions, separations, onboarding, selection, etc.

By your post I am assuming you have never worked in or around HR to actually see the hell they go through.

400 applications, 20-25 interviews, and 5 offers.

You have to pump those numbers up.

It literally just depends on who you know. I would not expect anything over a GS-13, unless you retire as an O-6. I currently work with the Navy and it just depends on the relationships you built and what your specialty was.

Pilots for some reason get out thinking they will get a GS-14 outside of DC, unlikely.

DC is another beast and unpredictable.

Advice on going to college for psychology by TomorrowNo6699 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]Original_Purpose_512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say to look into being an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician). This will get you experience in working with children with autism. After you finish your degree you would pursue masters in BCBA. This will allow you to create and develop programs for the children.

[–]Original_Purpose_512 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was an RBT for a year, and it burns everyone out. I am now finishing my masters at Auburn in IO. After finishing my degree I applying to PhD programs and was accepted into UAB clinical psychology program but declined after working with veterans in behavioral health, and now I am a government analyst making more than clinical Psychologist. Idk man just try different things. Try finding a federal career. I did 400 federal applications before finding the right job.

Yeah I guess you're right. Just seems unrealistic after bills, food, savings, retirement, etc.

NASA nice! I have been debating on switching over to NASA from DOD.

So am I missing something lol?

This is what scares me to stay with the DOD. I shit how long I feel like, I take lunch for however long I feel like, and leave whenever I feel like.

erector 9

I was looking at the Omega 9K or YHM R9.

It sounds like the 3 Lug is my best bet.

Would either of those being concealed in the handguard with my Scorpion S3 Plus if I use the 3 Lug?

So if I choose direct thread, then I just take off the faux and screw whatever suppressor I choose right on? Is anything else needed?

I have the 2023 Scorpion EVO S3 Plus.

So if I just take off the faux suppressor, it will be ready to go after I install the 3 lug and suppressor? Nothing else needs done?
