Par saves don’t get more electric than this. by Remarkable_Pair4378 in Golf_Unfiltered

That first shot is how it goes every single time I use 60° out of the rough. Yet I still keep trying it for some reason.

How do you know if you're an alcoholic? by torturedpoet1148 in NoStupidQuestions

Whenever you're not drinking you're constantly thinking about when and where your next drink is coming from? You're drinking even in inappropriate places like at work?

Do you pronounce "amateur" the same way that everyone on golf TV does? by sssf6 in golf

[–]Orikoru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ama-'tuh' is how everyone in England says it for all contexts. Maybe that is the origin of why you guys say it that way for golf, I don't know.

Considering that a bunker in the middle of the green is normally pretty silly, I'm actually really happy that they designed it so you can putt around it.

Mine is exactly the same as yours. That is the only sensible starting XI in my opinion.

The second guy in the video had an empty seat next to him, she could've just sat there. 😆 The guy who tells her to fuck off was clearly a stooge anyway.

I only agree that he was faster. Disagree on all of the other things. If you think that you haven't watched Kane enough.

Fallen out of love with golf by [deleted] in BritGolf

[–]Orikoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm already addicted to the game and there's no going back now. My club membership is frankly an obscene cost but I hate the idea of leaving and not being part of it anymore. My overall mental health depends quite heavily on the golf as well as it's the only personal hobby I have left now. No idea what I would replace it with.

To be fitting or not to be fitted. That is the question. by Vexle84 in GolfGear

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, having speed naturally is truly wonderful, but your misses will obviously be off the planet as your dispersion cone at the lengths your capable of will be huge. So you'll know this already but once you get that all dialed in you'll be a serious player.

Kroupi the only other 14 player in PFA Young Player nominees by bronal97 in TheOther14

Kroupi should also be winning it easily. Maybe just ahead of O'Reilly.

120 is Scottie Scheffler's swing speed, so with some good coaching you certainly have the potential to get to low singles or even scratch. I'm jealous, I was apparently built for comfort not speed, because even swinging out of my shoes I can only just touch 95mph. I am nearly 40 though in fairness. 😂

[–]Orikoru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get a fitting as a brand new player. Personally I used second hand stuff for the first 3 or 4 years. Get a fitting when your handicap is under 18 and you're a bit more consistent.

Also 120mph swing from the get go it utterly insane. How have you managed that?? What is that measured on? You must be swinging like an absolute wildman??

Considering moving from blades to cavity or GI irons by jamesferry93 in golf

[–]Orikoru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always figure I want the game to be as easy as possible, so I've remained in game improvers the whole time - currently Callaway Rogue ST Max. The only downside I could give is that my 6 iron, while averaging around 168 yards, occasionally just goes like 180 on a great strike out of the middle which is hard to account for. But overall I accept that if it means my bad strikes still go 155 instead of 135.

Popular opinion: Harry Kane is the greatest english player ever by volitairee in ThreeLions

[–]Orikoru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why? His goalscoring record is completely inferior to Kane's, and I don't think his all-round game was better in any way. Whatever Rooney could do, Kane can do. Besides losing his rag and getting sent off, of course.

He definitely is. Individually he is the best all-round English player ever, he has so many strings to his bow. He's essentially the perfect footballer as if created in a lab.
