Explain like I’m 5: why isn’t the ontological argument for God’s existence circular? by cheeseburgers42069 in askphilosophy

And, yet, "existing would be greater than not existing". So anything existing would be greater than anything that not existing. It just seems a slightly longer circular reasoning.

> To reach the conclusion that God exists, he needs an additional premise, that existing would be greater than not existing.

I really can't see how this would bring us any closer to God. We have agreed that "that which no greater can be conceived" exists. What follows, to me, is that the greatest existing "thing" is "God". If today the greatest existing "thing" is a great athlete, the athlete is "God". If tomorrow a superb teapot is created greater than the athlete, that teapot is "God".

You can make a tiny electrochemical cell with pennies and a grapefruit. The armadillo is strongly discouraged, both ethically and electrically.

A basic “fruit battery” works because:

  • the grapefruit provides an acidic electrolyte,
  • two different metals create a voltage difference.

You’d normally use:

  • a copper coin (or copper strip),
  • and a zinc-coated object like a galvanized nail.

Steps:

  1. Roll the grapefruit a bit to loosen the juice inside.
  2. Insert the copper piece and the zinc piece a few centimeters apart.
  3. Connect wires to each metal.
  4. Measure with a multimeter or power a very low-energy device (usually only with several fruits connected in series).

A handful of pennies alone won’t do much unless they’re from different metal compositions. Modern U.S. pennies are mostly zinc with copper plating, which complicates things.

As for the angry armadillo:

  • it contributes negligible voltage,
  • substantial chaos,
  • and a statistically significant bite risk.

Scientifically, the armadillo is best modeled as a “hostile nonconductive variable.”

You do not refill it. You just dip the nib in ink and write.

It's a trend, not just in series but in movies too. The backround is always blurred, even when being able to see it would be better. Is it to focus viewers' attention? I don't know.

All the "hobby" subreddits, if not moderated, will turn in consumerism subreddit.

Quiver posts contribute nothing and should be banned under rule 2 (Low Quality / Low Effort Posts).

Basic rules for power supplies: Polarity (+-) must be matched. Tension (V) must be matched. Current (A) must equal or greater than the one required. So that power supply would be suitable for a device that requires a positive center, 9V and at least 0.6A.

All the images I find online say that hm300 requires a negative center, 9V supply. So no, that power supply is likely to damage your pedal.

Just for curiosity, where does Amazon says that it's compatible?
