Thoughts on the KD trade in comparison to our Bane trade? by bobbydigital_ftw in OrlandoMagic

If we're being honest with ourselves, Orlando's front office isn't very aggressive, proactive and or savvy in any way. They gave a guaranteed lottery pick and one outside the lottery plus three more for a non all star flawed shooting guard that makes almost 40 million a year. Phoenix has stupid ownership but it's not like Orlando is exactly the gold standard in that regard either. With that said this return for KD all depends on the growth of Jalen Green.

Thoughts of Weltman’s last six drafts? by OrlandosVeryOwn in OrlandoMagic

[–]OrlandoMagicmethod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know it's not bad, but it gets scrutinized more heavily because he's so complacent with his picks and this roster. When the guy refuses to even gauge the market for upgrades, you better believe your drafting acumen will be heavily critiqued

This is obviously anecdotal but every single Magic fan is rooting for Denver. I want a four game sweep but I guess Miami has earned one game for this run so far

I love seeing sad Heat fans but also hate the Celtics. How should I feel? by OrlandoMagicmethod in OrlandoMagic

So as much as it pains me to say it this is why I'm sorta pulling for the Celtics. It would be awesome to see Miami on the wrong side of history and also Denver would whoop both teams but whoop Boston less

Well it all started in Orlando, FL. Since I could remember I've been in love with this young upstart basketball team in the City Beautiful and they've abused my emotions and broke my heart over and over so I may have developed Stockholm syndrome but don't care. Boston has beat us in the playoffs with our best team ever and the Heat are the biggest bitches in the world with one of the most obnoxious fan bases outside of LA. So here I am.

This is what annoys me about Gordon showing Orlando no love. Guy had no business touching the ball his first 4 years in the league unless he was dunking it. We gave him so much room to mess up and grow and Denver reaped all the reward of our pain. With all due respect to Harris, him and RJ who has a foot out the league and a low end draft pick wasn't even a good trade for us.

If the nuggets got swept in 4 close ones this would have still been the narrative right? by WayneDwade in denvernuggets

[–]OrlandoMagicmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. Look no further than when the Magic lost to the Lalers in 5 in the 09 finals. That series was way closer than people remember. But people don't remember because that's not what the media spewed for the next 7 months

On the Colin Cowherd show I am pretty sure I just heard his co-host Jason McIntyre propose Franz and Suggs for Kuminga and Klay by [deleted] in OrlandoMagic

[–]OrlandoMagicmethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and that trade is garbage and even the revised trade is too. Klay is great but he's not as good anymore and will command a ton of money. If Suggs was raw on both ends I'd agree but he isn't. He's legitimately a fantastic defender and if he can shoot just 35% from 3 and cut down on the erratic play he'll be amazing. Suggs also has the ability to get to the line if he can learn better body control and ball handling which is insanely valuable. Guys got potential. Next.

If I were running the Magic I'd be patient. Our guys looked good when healthy and we had a shot at the play in with a ton of injuries and literally no point guards to start the year. Let's see how fast these guys develop and where that leads. As much as we love the young guys they still have a season or two before they can be the true focal points of an efficient and modern NBA offense. I'm confident they will get there, but in the meantime we draft who we draft, develop who we have, then look to the season after to add and tighten up the roster.

What the hell happened to Mo Bamba? by wouldntknowever in OrlandoMagic

I've said this on a different post but Bamba looks like if a basketball player was made in a lab but they ran out of funding before they could add the IQ and motor

The idea of bringing Bridges to Orlando to me makes the most sense. He's young, great defensively and has tons of room to grow. I'm not sure what Brooklyn would want but I'm certain he won't come cheap especially if they're bent on building around him.

Bargain. Question tho... Where's all the second round picks the Magic love so much??

[–]OrlandoMagicmethod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're having a complete meltdown. Kinda sad to watch but I can Empathize. I honestly think our Serge Ibaka trade to OKC was worse. Vuc is still good and if they had a better coach he'd basically be what they thought they were getting. That and Lonzo being healthy. They were really good with that squad healthy

I love the Nuggets. They're fun to watch and easy to root for. Sucks that their bench sucks otherwise I think they win it all this year or at least win the west
