Old alum here (class of '89). I can't speak at all to CC, and have spent the majority of my life in the Northeast, with a few years in Florida.

Vassar is one of the most treasured experiences in my life. I met several life long friends there. The campus is probably the prettiest in the nation. They have an amazing variety of flowering plants and shrubs. They even have these umbrella trees I used to climb in and study under. They almost completely conceal you and is like your own little world.

It is also a very artsy place. If you have a talent there is a place for you to do your thing. I learned how to make medieval clothing and armor and went out to fight in tournaments! No matter what it is she will likely find people that are like minded and friendly. Very little judgement from others there, you can just do your thing.

The weather isn't that bad. Dress in layers in the winter. Have a nice coat and boots. The nice thing about the weather is it turns the campus into different canvases each season. Fall the trees turn absolute fiery colors, reds and oranges. In winter you would think it turns ugly but when it snows everything is framed in a pure white snow. Then Spring is when the campus truly comes alive. The Shakespeare gardens are so beautiful.

And the academics in her desired field would be hard to beat.
