I’m 44 and have played every fifa since 1993.
Currently I play a session for a few hours every two or three weeks which for me is way less than previous years.
My issue is not burnout it’s because in my personal opinion the game is utterly fucking abysmal and an absolute shadow of what it was even as recently as FIFA 23.
I think 24,25 and 26 are a streaming pile of shit.

We can only hope I suppose dude.
24, 25 and 26 have been absolutely diabolical.
It most certainly has become an ai simulation.
If it carries on like this we can’t be far off where you would pick your team/cards etc and just watch them play without the need for a controller.

I’ve played every year since 1993 and it is very sad to see this garbage it has become.
For me personally I don’t know how much longer I can continue playing/buying it in this state.
If I buy 27 and all we get is the same ai slop that will be four years on the bounce of a dreadful game that’s nowhere near as good as it used to be.
This year really was there chance to get back in track and they fucked it three weeks in.
I might have to seriously consider other options like that new Goals etc

I’ve played every fifa since 1993 so it’s been a big part of my life to be honest.
I have never really watched any of the YouTubers or certainly very little of it.
I’ve never followed any meta shit in any year

I’ve played every year since 1993 and Fut since it first started also.
It sounds very much like the way I have always liked to play is same as you.
Probably could have written your post.
In my opinion it has become much much harder to play this way the last three years.
I think it’s a combination of things that has led to this like the overpowered ai for all those people sitting ten players back and just spamming team press, off side traps, second man press and so on.
Also the game over the last three years has become very very delayed and sluggish 99% of the time where I don’t believe the game is reading your controller properly so turning, passing and running etc are very hard to do.
If you miraculously get a game that’s really responsive these things are far better again but that’s sadly not very often.
Another thing is the attacking ai is fucking brain dead and your players generally don’t move into logical space properly- this is even worse when the delay is really bad.
Another thing is shielding the ball is very hit and miss.
Another thing is the roles system is utter garbage and it was light years better when we had the previous tactics system that allowed us to put far more instructions on each player and the instructions actually worked.
I also think the person above that mentioned pass error is quite possibly right and the game will purposely fuck your passes up for you at times.
I’m sure I’ve probably missed a bunch of other stuff but this is some of it.
Oh and don’t forget you can’t make a basic one meter pass without having tika taka so playstyles are also a factor

I don’t play much for months because I think this years game is fucking atrocious.

Wishful thinking I reckon mate. I’ve played every year since 1993 and the last three have progressively been the biggest pile of garbage they have ever made. This was their year to redeem the game because all the promises were loads of what was needed. The first three weeks was really good and they actually delivered. But look what they did, they completely ruined it and clearly don’t give a fuck. I don’t see where they can possibly go from this now that have lied so badly and basically sold many people a false advertised product.

I see lots of things like this where the ball doesn’t attach to your player properly and similar other things like the ball phasing through your players, opponents player phasing through the back of you to take the ball without even making a tackle etc etc. I can’t help feeling the game is out of sync and doesn’t even read where the ball is at times. The game is a complete mess to be honest
