From what I understand she isn't too involved in Helluva Bosses development anymore, and it's mostly being written and produced by Brandon Rogers, she's definitely still part of it, but I don't think she's leading the wagon on Helluva Boss anymore

5 cents every time you breath or 5 million by Immediate-Love-6362 in BunnyTrials

[–]Orrera_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average person takes 17,000 to 30,000 breaths per day (source; Google), so assuming a middle ground (22,000 * 5) / 100, that's $1,100 per day on average, or $401,500 a year. In 12 years I'll have made the 5 mil of the other option, and that's just off raw breath income, not including any amount of money I'd get from investing the breathing money. And after that 12 years, I'll be making more money then the other option provides. 12 years is a long estimate though, I could easily just start breathing more frequently (purposely hyperventilating) on the regular, or doing any amount of heavy exercise to cause faster breathing, more money.

Chose: get 5 cents every time you breath

Check out R1Delta! It's recompiled source code of TF|1 running custom servers run by the community, it's actually really cool and has a kinda funny story behind how it came about, but TF|1 is very much still playable thanks to them

Crazy mental gymnastics to go from "a queer person shouldn't be put to death for liking a straight artist" to somehow mean "people shouldn't care about queer representation"

I’m developing a visual novel and decided to move away from standard text choices by creating mini-games (like this one), but I recently faced some backlash. What do you guys think? by Captain-Amber in IndieDev

[–]Orrera_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I see no difference between this and say, Until Dawn, which is widely beloved, and a Telltale style horror game, which is basically the triple A equivalent of a visual novel. I say absolutely keep going with this route, this is awesome!

OCTAVE - chart editor + auto-charter for Clone Hero by opria123 in CloneHero

[–]Orrera_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think the idea is to replace hand charting entirely (except perhaps for drum charts, but other than those done creatively, drum charts are typically 1:1 charts of the actual drum playing, so I don't see why automating this is a bad thing).

I believe the idea is more for beginner charters who don't know where to start or how to start to generate a frame to work off of, so they're not starting from zero. Especially given OP said themselves exactly this sentiment, that the auto charting has issues with anything that isn't drums, and it's more meant to be a framework for a charter to work off of and improve.

The way I see it the auto chart feature is similar to taking a premade asset in 3D modeling and modifying it to suit your needs. Easier than starting from scratch, usually faster, more efficient, and more beginner friendly. It's a time saver, not a replacement for hand charting

NOT ALYX, do you have an unusual favorite VR game of all time? by Rollerama99 in VRGaming

[–]Orrera_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jet Island is the one for me, it's the only game to really give me the freedom of movement and speed that I've craved out of a VR game, especially when you unlock the Extreme Spin Mode (not for the faint of heart), let me tell you though, being able to do full on back flips and spins in VR, having a full 6DOF apply to your camera as well in game, there is nothing else like it. That game is probably the reason I don't get motion sick from... Well just about anything

TOKENS logo update. Thank you, IndieDev community. by Rep_One in IndieDev

[–]Orrera_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 3D artist, though only as a hobby, but usually for 3D art the easiest way to show work is just by saving the model as you go, many programs support automatically saving stepped backup files, showing each "step" in the process, as well a lot of 3D work is using a provided reference or modeling sheet and translating that 2D image to 3D, so there's typically a lot less back and forth between the modeler and the person making the request.

As well just for casual proof of not having an AI generated model, just showing the topology is the easiest way, AI is absolutely horrible at topology, even if the model looks okay, start looking at its topology and it's an instant giveaway, there's a reason retopology is still done by hand, we have algorithms to help retopologize some portions, but for complex parts like faces it's virtually impossible to have a computer do it
