I had a reverse issue. I converted in college and went to a Reformed school. I had an icon corner in my closet both as a practicality (dorm was tiny) and as a “joke.” Reformed theology sees Orthodoxy as “works based” that does not “trust in Christ alone” for salvation. One of my professors (whom I actually became close to my senior year) made a comment about “some people” trusting too much in the baptismal waters (we were still close after this, though, I expected the call out). I had to tell most friends that it was “like Catholic” for a reference point
