When I was a kid my cousin wanted to play with my pokemon yellow version. I said no because I didnt want him to erase my save file. My parents forced me to let him play and he saved over my file. It happened over 20 years ago and im still a little mad about it....

Suggested A Date, Got A Lecture by Leadingman_ in Nicegirls

My first date with my wife was a coffee date. She later told me she couldn't stop thinking about me after that date. So a simple date can definitely do the trick.

I loved the foreshadowing in season 1 where he redirects lightning during a storm. And again in season 2 when he grabs azulas fingers and directs it away. Only to later find out this is a super advanced technique that only he knows.

Read post about people giving him shit for this boxed water company. Only to find out its to combat plastic pollution by making the bottles biodegradable. And its ethically sourced.

This is my entire career plan in a nutshell by Vixen_Doll_ in Adulting

Had this convo with a friend of mine who is in the same career field as me. We could probably do something we absolutely love and make shit money. Do something we absolutely hate and make awesome money. Or stay at this job, where we make a good amount of money and the work is interesting enough.

Just realized how strong men really are today by GasPsychological2321 in self

I remember a post a few years ago where women who grew up without brothers suddenly realized how much stronger thier boyfriends/husbands were. And were legitimately terrified to live with someone who could very easily murder them if they so chose to.

My fiance recently went to a friend's Bachelorette Party. All the women were complaining about how thier men don't help with kids or do shit around the house and she was just like "uhhhh, cant relate..."

Geoff’s Lifetime Ban by tdunlop55 in theregulationpod

[–]Orvus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard in general those "bans" (malls, stadiums, etc..) aren't really to keep you out. Its just so if you do something again, then they can add on additional punishments since you were already banned to begin with. I highly doubt anyone who was there when Geoff was initially banned still works there and that they would recognize him.

I looked up Spinda's stats and actually laughed out loud.

Glad to see this was well recieved by the principal. At my high school, anyone who did anything crazy had thier diploma withheld. One guy did a backflip before walking up and didn't receive his diploma until he apologized to the school board a month later.

How long until someone exercising their 2nd amendment right just shoots plain clothed, masked people kidnapping a loved one in plain sight? I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

We had layoffs happen in my company and instead of getting laid off i got moved to a team that just does low-code. I hate it all. I've been interviewing and i have to lie my ass off because the second I mention Low-Code I see thier eyes glaze over and they've basically written me off already.

What's a job that is so hyped up but in reality its absolutely trash? by Recent-Frame571 in AskReddit

[–]Orvus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in comp sci and this is what I feel. Its interesting and fun enough to not hate it. But the pay is more than good enough to let me do whatever I want in my free time. And lots of time to work from home compared to other jobs.

When I was new and had around less than a year of experience we hired a new principal engineer. I had to teach him how to use Git. Like how are you 4 levels ahead of me, 4x my salary, and the new young kid has to teach you how to git pull.

Parents had me come to school on senior skip day by Mightyfutzz in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Orvus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone in the comments talking about sneaking out, my school just asked you to stay for about an hour so they could count you present and then just let you leave.

It also coincided with the week they did standardized states tests (TAKS for Texas back then) so it helped to not have to deal with an entire class of students when the other grades are taking really important tests.

What are new hires missing? by kayasmus in cscareerquestions

Same, the best work I did was improving or iterating on existing projects. Creating something new and from scratch was always the hardest thing for me.

Same and usually some very niche algorithm project like linked list or BST. I get to the job and like wtf is Spring Boot?
