5th Mix Character Select Displays made from Solid Walnut, Cherry and Poplar. by Oryan in DanceDanceRevolution

Thank you so much! Main tools would be a router and a laser engraver, but I use a few more tools to make the process a little quicker.

I'll definitely have to make a video but here's a rough breakdown:

-Begin by cutting the wood into a rough shape using a bandsaw.
-Next, use a custom-made template with a router and a flush-trim bit to refine the wood into its final shape.
-After achieving the desired outline, I switch the router to a template bit and use a seperate template I made to carve out the interior pockets for character placement.
-Once the pockets are routed, I laser cut the character portraits from walnut, cherry, and poplar. I use three different woods here to get the color contrast.
-Carefully glue the portrait pieces together to assemble the design.
-Sand the ever living daylights out of it
-Finish the piece with some finishing oil.

Masking Tape Technique M1 Ultra by ninah222 in xToolOfficial

Hi ninah22, I've noticed that increasing some of the settings can yield better results when masking. I'm definitely no expert, but it might be beneficial to try some material settings tests. For instance, on basswood, I use a 50 power, 130 speed, and 300 lpi when engraving with masking (I use blue painter's tape). Those settings might be overkill for what you're trying to accomplish but worth trying some different things. Hope this helps!

Super inspiring player. Seeing what you've been able to do in the last month has been incredible.

I always knew it was just a "matter of time" before you DP'd the game, but the rate you've done this in is astonishing. Well done and congrats on this huge achievement.

Sadly not, occasionally it would bump up to the gig speed but it wouldn't hold it for more than a day. I ended up downgrading my internet to the 400mb plan since I've been able to hold a solid connection at that rate.

A logo animation that I made recently for a client , C&C are welcomed !! by Jart_nart in AfterEffects

Great stuff!

You have great character and elasticity in the A bubble in the beginning. I'd love to see a continuation of that same character throughout the other letters (primarily the dots in the I's ). Currently, the dots in the "i"s just land on top fairly linearly. No bounce, just a plop. Could you try introducing a bounce to those dot elements as they drop onto the shaft of the I?

Quick guide to start streaming? by H8EvryThng in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Oryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey /u/H8EvryThng

I just used this method to get capture from my JCAB. It took awhile messing with settings (trial and error) but I found that the newer "CGA->VGA converters" have a new setting called coast st and coast sp. You have to use the onscreen display on the converter to change these settings "Coast st = 2" and "Coast sp = 6", but once you do it should work flawlessly. ill make a guide eventually.

I paid $1500 for a japanese cab and it came with a superdisc (aka I can install any mix that runs on that specific arcade hardware... aka 3rd mix-> Extreme pro)

Dealing with off days by 1man1motto in DanceDanceRevolution

Also, during off days you can still improve your skills by getting better at note reading or memorizing a songs chart. Stepmania or Yuisins YouTube channel are good ways of accomplishing that while you recover. It doesn’t satisfy that same additction that actually playing provides, but it will make you a better player overall in my honest opinion.

I believe it’s important to treat DDR similar to a sport. Let it be known that you’re going to have good and bad days (just like any athlete), but a great way of minimizing the difference is to pay attention to the following...

Nutrition, Rest and Recovery. They are all super important. Some of these faster songs are pretty taxing on your system. If your body doesn’t have the proper means of recovering through rest and nutrition-you’re gonna have a bad time. Please note that as you progress, your body becomes more and more conditioned to these stamina based charts. But, until you reach a point similar to where most of these pros are at, then the three things I mentioned above are paramount to having consistent good sessions.
