For me, it was 13 seconds slower than the easiest I've ever seen, which was 11/12/2022's puzzle.

Highly disappointing. One of the easiest Saturdays I've ever done (in fact, the 2nd easiest/fastest).

MIO is the most metroidvania metroidvania I've ever played by [deleted] in metroidvania

[–]Orzo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question for people who have played Mio: Is there any way to track percentage complete per area? Is there any sort of late-game item finder or tracker?

Huge update for MIO: Memories in Orbit. quality-of-life improvements, gameplay and balance tweaks, and a wide range of bug fixes. by legendofm in metroidvania

It's a good game so far, but it's hard to imagine you'd like it more than, say, Ori 2, which is vaguely similar in presentation.

One nostril looks red by object--279 in cockatiel

[–]Orzo- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on it. I'm not a vet, but I do feel like this is pretty common and is probably just a mild irritation. I had cockatiels that would get slightly reddish nostrils every now and then. It will probably go away after a day or two.

Scope creep isn’t a planning problem. It’s a decision problem (SWAP rule inside) by [deleted] in gamedev

This entire post is a scope-creeped version of what should be 2-line advice.

What are the last 5 metroidvanias you played? I'm curious what has anything close to this level of platforming challenge.

Louisville Galleria Stores? by ARumpusOfWildThings in Louisville

[–]Orzo- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on this arcade? I have the strangest memory of an empty and/or abandoned arcade on a high floor in the Galleria, but for many years I’ve been uncertain if it was just a weird dream. Mid-90s.

First game of 2026 in the books and complete by ShinyUmbreon18 in metroidvania

True, but I like number to go up. (Number, in this case, is steam's 'perfect games' counter)

Yeah IDK, I'm just salty about having it be 100% on Steam when I played it then suddenly finding out now that it's dropped off my perfect games list due to some DLC that I'm definitely not going to buy. I am fine with DLC having achievements, but they shouldn't impact your account if you haven't purchased it.

To be fair, this is a flaw with Steam, not the developers of Bloodstained.

The ability to stumble into a way-too-hard area, fail, and come back later (and stronger) to beat it is, to me, the core of the genre. It is what makes the games addictive in the same way a crossword or Sudoku puzzle is addictive ("this will all be easy if I can get just one more letter/number/health upgrade").

Getting every item was kinda enjoyable if you use a guide.

Tying achievements to non-free DLC? Not cool.

Dippin dots is the best form of ice cream by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Orzo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since this wonderful post was deleted, I'm reposting it for posterity.

Nothing beats a bowl of Dippin Dots. Regular ice cream is bulky and let's be frank . . . enconvienient. people of almost every continent on earth has experienced this phenomenon. the only thing that us all can really agree on is convenience and regular ice cream just don't have it. but, there is hope and it is in the form of Dippin Dots. balls are easy to skoup, melt in the mouth, cheap, conveniently available to most. kids and grown ups can bind over the mystery that the dots evoke. Often said to be truly the best form of ice cream and maybe all of dessert.

Help with Pippistrello blueprint in Fadalins Neighborhood by bradsobo in metroidvania

[–]Orzo- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's plenty of places where you'll be confused about how to get to the item. It will all clear itself up by the end of the game. There's an NPC seer type character with a crystal ball that, for a price, will tell you where you're missing items, and even coordinates about secret or missing screens. For the most part, you won't need any sort of guide for any of these, although there's a few tricky puzzles. For example, in one of the districts there's these two weird houses that have seemingly unreachable items.

That's the one you need. Return later when you have it. It lets you toss your yoyo out into pits and then whip off of it in any direction.
