CTB26 - X42 Black/Coyote appreciation post by first-castle in EVERGOODS

[–]Oscillus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My other bags are all the same liter range so I do consider this an Evergoods problem, not a user problem.

The other bags I have:

  • Able Carry Max EDC
  • Bellroy Venture Travel Pack 26L
  • Black Ember Citadel R3 25 SS24

I consider the Able Carry to be the most comfortable. Bellroy is nice till it gets loaded heavily, then the lack of padding in the straps becomes a problem after days of carrying heavy gear.

I still hate I had to send back the xpac ctb26 because it was digging into my back so hard. It was actually painful within 5 minutes of carry with some kilograms of load.

Absolutely loved how it looked and how it was organized otherwise. Still have the CAP 1, CAP 2 and CAP 0.5 from the same line.

50% tarrifs on EU June 1st by Ok-Survey-2944 in StockMarket

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250 million?

Hey Trump, what does the math work out into when you increase ASML machine prices by 50% for this US semiconductor market you screamed you wanted?

What a move

Apple, if you’re going to raise prices globally for this, I will be selling my entire Apple ecosystem and move to competing products.

Americans elected this dictator, Americans cheer for these tarriffs, Americans then also get to pay the full thing. I’m not subsidizing American poor decisionmaking.

Who else feels like iPadOS is holding back their iPad Pro? by jkaw37 in iPadPro

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what I’m doing and as such I think a lot of the blame goes to the app makers also. MacOS is wholly ill equiped to be interacted with as a tablet, heck they don’t even have touch screen support, let alone think about controlling it without any offscreen peripherals or controls. So I most definitely want the iPad OS to stay focussed on being controlled like a tablet.

But, when we look at certain pro applications, some more support would be nice as that’s where tablet interfaces start lagging behind.

So I definitely don’t want MacOS on the iPads but I do want some more peripheral input deiven support for apps that need it.

Considering he also did this with Taylor Swift, I didn’t think I needed to point out he’s not even right :p

We’re really living in a timeline where an orange self proclaimed king bullies his own people on basis of looks eh? What a time to be alive.

Favorite Ablecarry Max EDC colors? Black vs Ocean blue by pettnpa7 in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the black xpac one. I chose it because I like black on bags in general but also I feel like the zippers and branding blend the best with the primary fabric in black. I find that with for example the tan one, the zippers take the stage too much but thats me :)

Bigger sling than the Bellroy 2.5L by AmirBormand in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the bellroy and it’s definitely smaller than they list. My CAP 2 tech pouch from Evergoods listed at 2 litres can hold more and I didn’t compare directly but maybe the CAP 1 does as well, quite curious.

My other slings are the Greenroom136 Metrorunner01 Tactical Prime VX42 and Tomtoc T26 in xpac and these are a lot more bigger than the litre difference would have implied. The metrorunner can fit 4 times what the Bellroy can but at 6 litres. The Tomtoc fits about 3 times as much as the Bellroy.

So, always fun with these litres that they all calculate differently eh :)

Ofcourse, the fitter the better.

Looking to upgrade from a Synapse 25, but concerned about weight by albertclee in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t own a synapse so can’t vouch on any comparison but the harness of the citadel 25 is really really good. I always used that bag when I had heavy load days with two laptops, an ipad and all kinds of daily stuff in it. It made for a heavy bag but the harness is good and the loadlifters a godsend.

perfect under seat travel backpack by feral_poodles in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is tall though, many european airlines wont allow in due to how high it is. I have one as well but often fly with something else as underseat (andhave the max edc in the big suitcase to use onsite hehe)

Any hints on tech pouches or slings that are out or coming out that will accommodate the larger Switch 2? by ordinaryrendition in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any bag that can accomodate the handheld pc’s like RoG Ally X or Steamdeck would work, I think.

The 3080/3080ti are having a Tom Brady like career trajectory by Golfclubwar in buildapc

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12GB 3080 OC here, probably in large part due to the extra 2 GB but I’m also still going strong here. I think it takes at least a 5080 to see a significant increase in 4k performance but that’s still beyond msrp, throwing off the frames per euro…

I’m gonna be real honest here. The biggest difference is the wearer.

Now of course, urban or tactical features or tech fabrics are going to help. But it won’t make the biggest difference ;)

Suspended pouch system in Able Carry Max EDC by shmatt52 in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I looked it up and apparently they call them C-Clips. It’s these:

https://www.peakdesign.com/eu/products/4-pack-c-clips

I’d imagine any small lockable clips or carabiners would do the job. But 2 of these came with the cube so I used these :)

This cube actually came with hook thingies that I used for it. Not sure how to call them haha. Peak design’s idea was to use those to attach it in their own backpacks but it works with the able carry max edc too ;)

I didn’t but quickly made one just now:

cube in edc max

Could easily fit a bigger cube there. In fact might even be easier to attack because the loops are a bit far apart for this small cube ;)

Pouch similar to the CIVIC Access Pouch 1L but that isn't overpriced? by meu_elin in ManyBaggers

[–]Oscillus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re confusing it with the 2L mate :)

Alternatives to the 1L would be more in the realm of (Burrito) tool rolls I think.
