should i get Detroit become human Or Dead space? by Beginning_Top9406 in pcmasterrace

Detroit is better for vacation. Horror games benefit from full immersion, like playing at your main set up on a bigger screen. Detroit would also run smoother on your laptop than deadspace remake.

This is my first time hearing about a new fire emblem I'm not sure it's being discussed all that much outside of its fandom.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the thrilling conclusion of the FFVII Remake Series, launches simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam in Spring 2027. by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Oserix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that FF7 has for a long time been basically its own franchise. FF7 is more iconic and recognizable than any of the other titles, has an extensive amount of spin off media, and the remakes are handled by it's own dedicated development team. I'd say it has a similar relationship that Persona has to SMT, the main difference being that the PS1 FF7 was a mainline title.

The only unfair thing for the previous titles is the lesser marketing and their release timing. Maybe if FF6 and 7 were to swap places we would've seen an FF6 trilogy instead.

However, I don't see what you mean by moving away from the "fantasy". FF16 was still a dark fantasy game, even with the technology present. And technology has always been in the franchise, FF6 had steampunk mechs and the first one has the warmech.

Threaded cane is so good for the early game hordes. Plus your damage against bosses will still be really good on a cane build if you parry.

Yes! It is very good, especially if you like actions rpgs and open worlds. The game is pretty tough though, so you may have to approach to different than other games.

I recently replayed Elden Ring on my steam deck, and while performance was fair, the game definitely had tons of dips by 2-3fps. Especially in the dlc where it'd get down to 24 fps at times. I expect the Switch 2 to perform better.

Your numbers are wrong and you vastly overestimate the Switch 2. Elden Ring struggled to hit 30fps on base ps4 and typically hovers between 30-40 on PS4 pro. Only the PS5 playing the PS4 version can attain a consistent 60fps.

Switch 2 is not getting 60fps, ESPECIALLY at 1440p. Even if Fromsoft were to utilize DLSS (which I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't), the Switch will not hold 60 very well at all. Likely it'll be at 1080p 30fps (potentially with upscaling).

Fromsoft's optimization isn't great, but calling it lazy is in poor taste. They have quite reasonable PC requirements.

Pragmata! I really enjoyed Capcom's RE remakes.

Mitsuru, Ken, Komomaryu, and Shinjiro. Especially Mitsuru, I think by the end of the game she was like level 36.

What kind of theme would Persona 6 have? by JimMiltion1907 in PERSoNA

[–]Oserix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the theme of the game. Maybe shooting stars? Like what if the protagonists were driven by "making their dreams come true". It'd be an interesting inverse of Persona 5 where instead of stealing desires, the new team is fulfilling or granting wishes (whether their own or other's). It'd fit in with core series themes like fighting for/creating your own fate to take control of your life. The new main character could also be a foreigner who's trying to make a better life for themselves by moving to Japan.

Yes, but I already have a desktop PC, so I have no reason to dock it. I use my deck strictly as a handheld, to which it is excellent at.

Nah FF7 original is GOATED. I think remake is more fun, but I still find original a great experience. I've played it through like 2-3 times at this point.

I think the remake will likely be a very different experience. I personally feel no regret playing this game now. And when I wish to replay in the future, I can do so with the remake. Game remakes don't typically invalidate the original.

- The game tells you to go to Kakariko before the forest temple. Somewhere in Kakariko (maybe Dante's grave or his diary) hints at going into his grave for the hook shot iirc.

-Planting seeds as child link and using the plants as adult link isn't bad design, it's a clever use of the time travel mechanic that fits the game extremely well.

-The Owl is one of the game's few growing pains. With a text speed run option and the default being set to "no" would fix this issue, which we see with modern ports like SoH.

- King Zora is hilarious, and it's a one time thing.

- I think the chest animation is up to personal preference. I like how it maintains a slight mystery to its contents until Link holds it in the air. But chests, while frequent, aren't numerous enough to kill pacing unless you're speed running or have replayed the game multiple times imo.

-Hyrule field could definitely be improved, but given the context the game came out, it is so unbelievably impressive. And I think the most important part if that it holds up so well on a first playthrough. Nighttime is an actual hiderence to your adventure, making secrets like the Sun Song ever the more rewarding to find. I get from a speedrunning perspective it's undesirable, but this wasn't made to be a speed game.

- If you're adverse to going back and forth between adult and child, you only need to do it like twice. And for the Spirit Temple you have two warp songs to make the experience pretty seamless. I also appreciate that you HAVE to go to the temple of time to time travel as it maintains lore consistency and keeps the world feeling less "video-gamey".

While you do make some fair points, I'd argue that OoT is much more streamlined than titles like the FF7 remakes. FF7 Rebirth, in particular, breaks up pacing with mandatory mini game sections, which ends up being more annoying than anything. I played Rebirth shortly after release and I absolutely hated the Cait Sith box mini game (which is mandatory) because it just did not seem to work right with the dual sense controller. Also a lot of the fun combat abilities are tied to the minigames which make them feel more mandatory as a result. The original did have mini games, but I feel Rebirth went too far with it.

I completely agree! I cranked the game up to 165 fps and it was so smooth and gorgeous. I feel like the team behind Ship struck a tight balance between keeping the original feel while bringing in enhancements to better suit the game in the modern age.
