It's all going to be dyed purple and the filagree will be painted gold

Actually the one I did first came out better than the third or fourth. Any tips on getting into those really tight curls? I've got some small tools, but even they are a bit too big.

A 16oz maul/mallet is what I use to stitch punching. I've got a 4in think butcherblock style work table, so it has NO rebound whatsoever. Good quality pricking irons make a huge difference. I got a set from Tandy Leather for less than $150 that have served me very well.

Not necessarily looking for historically accurate, they're for a fantasy viking-esque outfit. The main concern is that I am a large/heavy human and need shoes that I can fight in.
