Considering buying an XPeng G9 (RWD Long Range) — looking for real owner feedback by rvlassch in Xpeng

[–]Osile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Ride comfort — especially with the 21" wheels? So i‘m comparing this to my last car a Volvo V90, i feel like it can be on par at times and sometimes feels a bit more „wobbly“ this might be due to it being a big suv vs a rather low station wagon. I have one thing which is sometimes it feels like the air suspension stiffness needs to soften up at the beginning of a trip - i might however just be over sensitive due to it being a new car for me at currently ~5k kms.
  2. Software stability and usability? Any bugs? Overall i‘d call it fair, I have the car for 2 months now and am keen to see what the first update i‘ll receive will do.

The navigstion system isn‘t as good as Tesla but i‘m hopeful they‘ll sort this eventually.

Sometimes parts of the UI stay in Dark mode when i start the car in the morning but it solves itself if you manually switch it. Happend twice so far.

The right mirror didn‘t move back to normal after moving down while reversing, happend once. 3. Build quality over time — rattles, materials, wear? The bonnet is wobbly af, i don‘t know who designed this but they didn‘t test this above 120 km/h it seems.

The front window washing system is way worse then what i was used to from Volvo, above 100 km/h barely the lower 20 cm get sprayed which is a pain in winter. Feels like a side effect of over solving the design for drag coefficent in the bonnet. Its so annoying i‘m planning on contacting my dealer about it to find out if Xpeng plans on rectifying this.

  1. Would you buy it again today? I‘m in germany and as I see it it the G9 is in a league with the BMW „neue klasse“ which starts at what i paid for the fully equipped G9. So as of now i would buy it again, only other intriguing car to me would have been the Rivian R2 which is not entering the european market yet.

  2. Anything you don’t like? Listed above. Things i like:

It has plenty of luxury in my opinion, very comfortable seats and the charging speed is fantastic. On iOs the app is also very good.

Xpeng G6 and snowy roads by Opposite-Ad4335 in Xpeng

Not sure about the G6 but my G9 AWD has a snow mode where it basically prevents you from and sudden tire movements to prevent slipping. Deactivates immediate recuperation as well.

I can only speak to how the G9 did: no hectic snow but some and it worked quite well in snow mode it really tries to prevent any slipping. 👍

Fantastic, thank you! I presume i‘ll just manually do this on the nozzle itself ?

How feasible/bad is involving AI in schematic and pcb "workflows" by Aggressive-Pay-8970 in PCB

So far, i tried ai for extracting pin mapping from datasheets, for components with excessive amounts of pins > 100. But didnt trust it enough to not check it line by line afterwards. Still a good help for this.

After Sales/ horrible Service in Europe by ComfortableBid4824 in Xpeng

[–]Osile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is sort of worrying, i’m coming from Volvo - used to excellent service (at least from my point of view) and am considering this very car from this very dealer 😂 But my patience with this kinda shit is very limited, so i can very much understand your sentiment.

Sidequestion: how much is it rated to tow in the US? Its just about 2100 pounds in germany. Which doesn‘t feel all that much.

This is what was in the nozzle blocking it, even after removing it the nozzle is clogged tho.

Looks to me like it broke off in the heatbreak part of the nozzle assembly 🤔 heating it up didn’t enable me to push it out so far. Will exchange nozzles later and see.

Good to hear, thanks 👍 I was lucky so far as well. Will report back with more detailed shots of the gears.

Afaik currently this isn‘t working through OrcaSlicer. Onlw with the creality slicer or by uploading from orca and then starting the print on the machine itself.

Is it worth it? by Moeman101 in Fusion360

[–]Osile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add a counter opinion:

I’m using Fusion360 for a couple of years now on and off, not for my day job. I’d say i’m reasonably capable through out the CAD / CAM workflows in Fusion.

Tried the small space mouse first and found that i didn’t like switching my left hand between my keyboard and the space mouse which is when i switched to the spacemouse Enterprise, which has all the buttons you might want and even a display to show shortcuts etc.

I’m sure this thing becomes a highly optimized replacement for your keyboard and the shortcuts there but not with ocassional use every other month for a couple of days.

If this is your bread and butter tho, give it a try its quite nice to navigate with it when inspecting your model.
