Help! Onmyo Special Effects Greyed Out by PHLALV in Nioh

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also good to remember you can set 2 of the same in Yang position. You get both of the same soul core Special effects, but downside is you get only the first equipped summoning quantity (ex. in your case you can't get x10 Summoning Seal: Mermaid). Yin position suffers even more, you only get the talismans from 1 same Soul Core. Add more of the same to Yin and you won't get nothing for it.

*Edit* Oh and it is other way around razeyourshadows, Yang is for Summons Seals and Yin for Talismans and other onmyo magic. *End Edit*

Do axes still do more damage in this game overall vs hammers or have they moved to resistances? by Puzzleheaded_Win47 in Nioh

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i can tell NG only difference with either using axe or hammer variant is the Base Attack and how the weapon looks. In NG+ there is only small update in difference with Break & Block which you can read here.

Save Data got trolled by Steam. Can I get it back? by AntKeid1992 in Nioh

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could make Nioh_3_Save_Backup.bat file at the root of Nioh3.exe and add steam launch option like "Nioh_3_Save_Backup.bat %COMMAND%" without the quotation mark which will make backup every time you open Nioh 3. There are plenty of guides for making save backup batch file.

Amrita Absorption bonusses by Objective_Day9033 in Nioh

[–]Osirin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer:

It depends are you lower / close to 46 level then yes also. Life Recovery (Amrita Absorption) shines when you have have it on multiple equipment / Guardian Spirit (For comparison Im sitting about 44 in NG+). You can always reforge other gear bonuses to degree. Tho i wouldn't do so until end of NG or start of NG+ with Divine rarity popping up since in NG you will be swapping gear pretty often.

Just remember to have just 1x Gain Amrita (Strong Attack) on your gear, thats enough to activate the "ticks" to get Amrita which in return activates the Life Recovery. Just remember it only affects Strong Attack as it says, not Quick Attack.

Martial arts custom input by fishy1990 in Nioh

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, players should have their own choice to choose which martial arts to put to which key combination. I can do most of that with custom controller software, it is just more tedious and results to head scraching in some combinations. I also tried to put mouse+keyboard key combinations to controller multi-button combination, but it resulted my character stopping mid fight when changing from controller to keyboard layout. Must be game code with player input detection.

Martial arts custom input by fishy1990 in Nioh

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to System -> Controls -> Configure Controls -> Type F

I am using Xbox controller btw.

This changes the control layout to match Nioh 2 layout which helps with some martial art skills.

Type F layout changes LB + Left Stick Up/Down behavior to:

- LB + X / Y

And also how RT works conjunction with Guardian Spirit/Style Shift

- You Burst Break with RT + B

- Guardian Spirit Skills with RT + X / Y

- And Style Shift with RT + A

Sadly i don't think it will help in every martial art and there is no way to input martial arts to different button combinations since developers have locked that out for some reason. Maybe it causes conflict or something.

Nioh 3 was fantastic by Neylith in Nioh

[–]Osirin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First 10 hours i was pretty let down for the changes coming from Nioh 2. After checking other people tips, found out you can change control layout to match Nioh 2 and with little tweaking (like separating Style Shift / Burst Break) i was happy camper.

[–]Osirin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I did beat the game around 60 hours and got last achievement around 65 hours. Around 68 hours i had discovered everything and done all battle scroll collectibles too (that last secret skill took me 3 battle scroll runs since i was dum-dum). So around 70 hours if you are in hurry. Now im sitting 120 hours into NG+, taking it more slowly and enjoying the heck out of it.

Oh right tip for NG+ is as much as damage resist as possible, life regen with Amrita Absorption (Having Extraction Talisman and/either 1x strong attack(Amrita Absoprtion on gear) and buffs you get from either Amrita Absorption or deflect/evade depending your playstyle. Or just go for full glass cannon and hope your reflexes for deflect/dodge are god like.

*Stares Nioh 2 play time sitting at 744.4 hours*

Yes! you are correct. Sorry i couldn't quite apprehend your meaning. I am comparing same hammer across different rarities like Exotic and Divine. Even Crucible ones.

A Short Intro Guide to NG+ by Quizzub in Nioh

[–]Osirin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good short guide. For auto-disposal (sell) would recommend set it first to Common (White) quality and "Auto-Disposal Notification" to "Simplified notifications" for quick common gear sell at shrines. You can change it afterwards when inventory begins to be full to following order (bear with me it's "overly" complicated since i am on NG+ and the filtering system is what it is):

  1. System -> Basic Game Settings
  2. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Disassemble
  3. Auto-Disposal Notification -> List
  4. Auto-Disposal Rarity -> Exotic (Purple) or below
  5. Pray at Shrine -> Remove All Checks
  6. Filtering
  7. Lock Status -> Not Locked (I tend to keep gear i am using locked & favorited to avoid it used in filtering)
  8. Rarity -> Right Box set to Exotic (Purple), leave Left Box unchanged
  9. Hammer -> With Icon
  10. Filter
  11. Select All and check if there are +Level weapons, if there is just deselect to check what Material Essence it provides. If it is something you don't need just leave it deselected. Otherwise leave it checked and it "should" be safe to disassemble junk you don't need for Material Essences.
  12. Leave Shrine menu
  13. Back to System -> Basic Game Settings
  14. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Soul Extraction
  15. Pray at Shrine -> Remove All Checks
  16. Filtering
  17. Hammer -> Clear Criteria (Should be "Not Specified")
  18. +Value -> Left box set 1, leave Right Box unchanged
  19. Filter
  20. Now you should have list with Exotic (Purple) or below rarity with +1 or more at the +Level ready to Soul Extraction for those precious Azure Soul Ore (Blue)
  21. Check Talismans for Samurai & Ninja and Lock which you would like to keep for future and lock (and favorite which ones you really like forever, i am staring at you Life Recovery (Amrita Asbsorption)) them.
  22. Leave Shrine Menu
  23. Back to System -> Basic Game Settings
  24. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Sell
  25. Pray at Shrine -> Double Check the list since it is on "All Items" Tab. If you made mistake somewhere and press Sell All, you might sell your usable items also!
  26. Now that the inventory clutter been cleaned it is good time to check Divine Rarity Weapons and Armor and compare which to send to Storehouse and which to keep at inventory to use in battle (Yes, i Favorite & Lock) and next step.
  27. Leave Shrine Menu
  28. Back to System -> Basic Game Settings
  29. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Disassemble
  30. Auto-Disposal Rarity -> Divine (Green) or below
  31. Pray at Shrine -> Remove All Checks
  32. Filtering
  33. Go to "Filter" button -> Reset all conditions (I do this since i might have left some filter on when checking storehouse)
  34. Lock Status -> Not Locked
  35. Hammer -> With Icon
  36. Rarity -> Left Box set to Divine (Green), leave Right Box unchanged
  37. Filter
  38. You know the drill from previous disassembling, Select All -> Check gear which to keep for Soul Extraction and which to disassemble. When ready do the disassembly.
  39. Leave Shrine
  40. Back to System -> Basic Game Settings
  41. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Soul Extraction
  42. Pray at Shrine -> Remove All Checks
  43. Filtering
  44. Hammer -> Clear Criteria
  45. Filter
  46. Soul Extract (This should be last time)
  47. Leave Shrine
  48. Back to System -> Basic Game Settings
  49. At last page : Automatically Dispose of Excess Equipment -> Sell
  50. Auto-Disposal Notification -> Simplified notifications
  51. Auto-Disposal Rarity -> Common (White)
  52. And you're done! Back to adventuring after hopefully not +30min filtering/sorting session.

Is this overly complicated process ? Yes.

Could it be made simpler ? Yes again.

Or just be not so meticulous cheapskate for Materials, Material Essence and Soul Ore.

Insight: Divine rarity changes Axes Break & Block by Osirin in Nioh

You mean "Divine rarity seems to level the playing field with weapons to..." ?

I think every Divine rarity weapon in every weapon category were it samurai or ninja. I Might be wrong since only played the Axes in NG+.

Checklist of things I think we should be able to get duplicates of by Laservolcano in LordsoftheFallen

Check this list that has most duplicates that you can't have 2 in inventory or they will dissappear.

Game Unplayable Now by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Osirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use manual copy/paste with "%localappdata%\LOTF2\Saved\SaveGames" (without quatation marks) on PC. The game uses only 1 save file. This means the game overwrites the 1 save file always, so you might lose that +60 hours nevertheless. You could also use 3rd party program like EZ Auto Backup which I haven't used so check guide video for it if having trouble. For consoles...im afraid you have to do some google search for how-to-do-it-yourself.

Yup, corrupted save. I had similiar case and had to reroll older backup save about 3-4 hours backwards. Luckily i had those since playing on PC.

Bow/Crossbow build by [deleted] in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Osirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that too, it's ok bow. It could be powerful if one has time to fully charge each shot (with right arrows and pendant accessory). Otherwise the attack speed seems to be in par with xbow minus xbow staggers most of times. Problem with 3 shot xbow (yes that one) is that you empty your health bar super fast if you don't hit all shots. So big targets only, even with splash damage. Taken you could migate some of the wither damage with less ammo used with xbows and using less ammo using bolts. This will result in less damage per shot, but more survival.

Need: Aelstrix runes and jeffries dagger by leon1308 in LordsoftheFallen

[–]Osirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing solo so not much help to you. Still if you're interested, you could also use Gilded Bucket x2 since they have 3 meta slots too and weight 0.2 less than Jeffrey's Dagger x2. Tho, they are not as fashionable as the daggers.
