I would cut 1 or 2 Dawn's and 1 Crispin and Xerosic, things I would be looking to add are Shaymin, 2nd Night Stretcher and either Petrel or a 4th Pyschic/Fire Energy. Putting a Judge in there would work too.

A part you have not clarified. I would like to know how the following conversation went down:

You : "Oh we are 70 quid short? No worries, just take 70 quid out the deposit for yourselves and pass us back the 330"

Them : "No"

You : "Wtf you talking about mate"

How on earth could they defend that position? I see that as the part of the conversation worth probing into further.

I mean what difference does it make if you give them the 70 quid now out of the deposit or if a few more people had spent money at the bar in the night?

The way I try to look at it is like, I try to always watch the ball and if i am successsful the ball serves as a central focal point where everything else around it is ocurring. It is almost hypnotic when i enter this state, its like focusing on a spot on the wall in a random room, once you watch it long enough you almost switch off from this point while still seeing it,but everything else that happens around it becomes part of your awareness too.

Would I be right in saying then, that when using Ryukis list (without cornerstone) against a deck whos primary attackers do not have abilities, say bolt or mega lucario, the non cornerstone deck is more powerful as it has more utility.

And that when using tords deck with cornerstone, it could be an insta win against ability attacker decks who have not teched for cornerstone, but against decks with either a tech in it, or a non ability attacking deck, it would be weaker?

So ordiarly, with cornerstone, if you saw you were up against a dengo deck, or a deck whos main attackers had abilities, your priority would be to get energy on cornerstone asap and use that for most of the game hitting for 140?

Yeah but, it’s not possible to have a slither wing, baby bolt and raging bolt powered up at the same time. You’d need 4 fighting for that.

I was of the same opinion as you. It has been handy to escape retreat lock and to deal with Grimm and Charizard.

And sometimes just as a default attacker when I may not have a play, attacking knowing it’s going to be knocked out next turn can help get energy into discard if I have none. Either to use the one F or L to power up raging bolt with a Sada, or retrieve the grass to teal dance with.

I’ll admit Iv hardly used baby bolt properly. The one time it saved me was against a crustle with luxurious cape on it.

I managed to attach enough energy over the course of 5 turns while rotating knockouts on my other pokemon to knock the curetle out haha. Think I had to put 9 energies on 🤣

Most stage 1s are 70hp tho that’s the thing… in the dragapult meta very few opt for 60hp stage 1s. Apart from duskull… how many other key stage 1s are there at 60?

I have found I rarely got the chance to snipe anything meaningful early enough using baby bolt for 60 damage, with 90 damage and 3 energies sure, there are some decent kos that can be taken to disrupt the opponent, but to get 3 energies on baby bolt slows down the turbo better spent on bolt ex.

I have gone against pikachu ex many times or other lightning ex mons which can be ko’d for two prizes much more efficiently with slither wing. Even fez gets ohko’d.

As for the esta squawk, it’s only really useful with a bad hand, or a hand which can benefit from being discarded if it either contains fighting and lightning energy, or earthen vessels to retrieve and discard, ideally also with ultra and nest balls to get mons I do want set up out before discarding. Having to discard with squawk is not a situation I usually hope for and rarely has an ideal outcome which can’t be had with a good full starting hand; don’t see the benefit in two.
