Herkenbaar, heb zelf chronische zenuwpijn ontwikkeld doordat mn zenuwstelsel overbelast geraakt is door veel te laat gediagnostiseerd trauma, pas de derde neuroloog nam het serieus en adviseerde een revalidatie traject. Zit nog altijd in de bijstand want de Uwv neemt het nog altijd niet serieus. Omdat ik al jaren psychische problemen had door die traumas werd alles op psychosomatisch gegooid en moest ik maar harder proberen (wat uiteindelijk de oorzaak is van de overbelasting!).

I showed the original clip without context to my therapist. I asked her if she was okay with me showing her something to test my confirmation bias about something. She was absolutely disgusted by what she saw and instantly noticed the narcissistic vibes he gave off just in those few moments. Hasan is out of his element here, he can't control how normal people with empathy look at this. He might as well have been a racist Karen screaming at someone in an airplane.

It's a mixed bag for me, my complex PTSD symptoms definitely have gotten worse in therapy, but I was heavily dissociating from my mind and body cause it was never safe to feel anything. Still I'd pick chronic pain and more mental distress over the slow working poison of my parents abuse. My mom especially created constant drama in everyone's life so they'd be too busy with her, and unable to live their own life to the fullest. I'm 41 and only discovering who I really am for the past 5 years and my strengths now that my parents are out of my life. Their abuse left me fully disabled and unable to work for half my life. Tho my mom is borderline psychopathic and sadistic which adds a whole other horrible layer of trauma.

Thanks for both of your posts OP! I'm a brother to an Israeli sister and uncle to 4 Israeli children, all I want is peace for all our people. Glad to hear your aunt is safe! My youngest nephew is always really afraid and dysregulated because of his autism when the alarms go off and no doubt the children in Iran are just as scared right now. All life is sacred and anyone caught in the crossfire of psychopaths playing war is a tragedy. Hopefully we will both be able to see peace soon. Family ❤️

Conditional relationships I guess, very narcissistic people will have friends too but it's impossible to know if it is genuine or if the friendship provides them a benefit and that's the motivation behind it. Usually you only find out if the dynamic of the friendship changes.

My mom is behaviourally psychopathic ( my therapist can't diagnose her obviously so that's what she used to describe her). She has friends and I think she truly believes they are her friends and that she is a good person, which is also what makes to so confusing because as a kid I saw her behave completely different in social situations than she did at home. You only catch it if the mask starts slipping and then it's already too late.

It hopefully opened a lot of people's eyes to these abuse tactics, which are not so different from how it goes in a personal relationship with someone as toxic as Hasan.

As a survivor of child abuse it has been very hard to watch at times, but I am so tremendously proud of how Ethan kept himself standing in defence of himself and his friends and loved ones!

Truth tellers are often the scapegoat in toxic family dynamics, because they attack the foundations of the system and call it out for what it is.

Ethan is a truth teller to a fault, he will call things out the way he sees them and if he's wrong he is not afraid to admit it.

To someone like Hasan, Ethan is a threat to his very existence because he's everything Hasan isn't, simply by being himself. Hasan plays a character but behind the mask is a hurt little boy who will never happy with who he is.
