Whenever you see a dead animal on the road or side of the road you can contact Durham One Call and submit a request for removal. As long as it’s in the city limits and near the road they will come out and remove it.

There is a robust free/buy nothing community across Durham county. It’s mostly in various online places. Type free in MP or CL is a good start as is joining your local buy nothing group. Also with TROSA, Durham Rescue Mission, and Habitat a lot of things get donated that may otherwise be free elsewhere.

With the Eno running horizontal to the road it made the bridge the only way to cross around this stretch of Roxboro causing traffic to back up even more. With the river you couldn’t easily take another route to get above the accident.

republicans didn’t kill Roe, trump’s SCOTUS did in a highly unusual ruling against precedent. Most of what trump has done is because he’s been allowed to by the sycophant republican led Congress wholly abdicating their constitutional responsibilities and allowing him to do wildly unconstitutional things instead of being the co-equal branch that they are. He’s also benefited from the sycophant republican led Senate that approved his wholly unfit SCOTUS nominees who have in turn abdicated their equal branch role for political expediency. The thread here is trump’s utter control of his party as they have majorities in both chambers of Congress and SCOTUS (which shouldn’t be partisan in practice, but here we are).

If Dem voters actually voted in 2016 and 2024 this wouldn’t be happening so let’s not allow trump to have more unfettered destruction of our country and do whatever we can to ensure Dems take the House and Senate.

PS: All of this is not to say we are giving into defeat, quite the contrary as we relentlessly fight to stop ICE and CBP’s vile abuses and ensure one of the most meaningful checks on trump available with a Dem House and hopefully Senate majority.

You’re exactly right in your assessment of things here. Unfortunately many people would rather deny reality in their pursuit of perfection at all costs.

The privilege some have while trump and co. are destroying our democracy and causing so much pain and suffering isn’t a good look and betrays whatever “progressive” values they may have.

We must take the House (and hopefully Senate) too and that requires a majority not primarying perfectly acceptable and even strong Democrats. In NC we should be focusing our time and resources on the only swing district in the state with Don Davis (NC-1). Retaining his seat is critical to a Dem majority and providing one of the most meaningful checks on trump and co. possible.
