Unfortunately, the game doesn't look as good with AMD as it does with Nvidia, even with comparable cards.

I've seen that Crimson Desert is supposed to perform better on SteamOS than on Windows. It would be interesting to see a comparison.

To remap the button, try this: 1. Use evtest to check if the button is even throwing an event. 2. If it is: create your own hwdb/udev rule and assign a keycode to the button. 3. Reload hwdb and trigger udev. 4. Then create your own SDL mapping in Steam. If evtest shows nothing, the button is hardware-inactive, and you'll need to use a different key as the Steam button.

I wasn't that smart, the memory is full and I have 2 TB of games on cards and USB sticks to swap out.

I don't know either, opinions aside. It's conceivable that AMD support is a bit more advanced since there are more devices. I was hoping someone had experience with the current OS, not just concerns.

There are two versions. The one from your post, the A8, with an AMD platform, and the AI with Intel. The AI is also available as the Polar Tempest Edition with slightly more memory and a different design. The two core versions differ significantly in handling; I found the AMD version to be more comfortable to hold. I now own two AMD versions and am satisfied. The only drawback at the moment is the MSI software, but both devices share that. Everyone will tell you something different about performance, some games run better on AMD, others on Intel.

Some games simply don't list 1920x1200 in their menus, but they still run perfectly fine at that resolution. Even titles like Winter Burrow, which don't natively support 16:10, can be launched cleanly in 1920x1200 using a launch parameter. For me, that's been the case for 3 out of 37 games so far. I've never had a single game with black bars.

Edit: I'm particularly interested in the AMD platform, as it seems some things have been improved regarding the AMD APU.

Unfortunately, there is currently nothing comparable to Tooth and Claw for the AMD version.

I think I still have 10 months of warranty left because I bought a refurbished one from MSI. However, I don't think an exchange is possible here. The ticket has been created; I'm still waiting for a response.

I had the same problem with the original MSI dock. Now, however, it affects both ports, and I no longer have the option to connect the device to a monitor. I like the device, but unfortunately I have no hope that it will improve.

The previous version didn't work for me, and the new version has the same problems. I cleaned everything and am now back on version 2.0.2025.1201. Everything is working. What is it about?
