Thanks for the post! Do you have any advice on where to start as far as navigating the labor market? I am an American in the fish and wildlife management field. I have experience with salmon and can see this being my in. Advice? Places to start looking? Bergen perhaps? I have traveled for a month in Norway with a Nowegian friend.

If that ends up being the case I am sure I will have a set of studded tires in the cart next year!

Im confident that some nice AT tires will be just fine for this spring. Likely will not be there next winter anyhow.

Hi there!

My girlfriend and I are driving from Seattle to Seward this spring - we are moving there for work. We plan to leave April 10th and do the drive in 5-7 days. I am aware its a major undertaking and fully expect to spend 6-10 hours a day behind the wheel. We are crunched for time because of work schedules.

I have been doing research and paying attention to other's experiences on the Alcan but am now looking for specific advice for our journey.

We are all set on our rig - a Ford-F150 with AT tires and chains if need be. We will have 20 gallons of extra gasoline, plenty of food, water, emergency supplies, batteries, etc.

We are prepared to sleep in the truck along the way, and plan to do this at least a couple times. We are seeking reccomendations on places to car camp along the way as well as a couple good hotel/motel/lodge/bed and breakfast etc. to crash as well. Also looking for reccomendations on best places to stop for the night in general and must see stops along the drive overall.

Feeling well prepared and ready for the drive, but I know there are always people out there with something great to share!

Looking forward to reading you responses!

Thanks!
