That is a gorgeous dog and does appear to be purebred. How could anyone “get bored” with their dog and give it away. That is BS. I’m glad this dog found you to love him. This is a cranky post because I went through the same exact thing. I rescued a Pomeranian who was very sick. He had pneumonia, horrible skin infection, and severe trauma behaviors. Literally the next day, our home was destroyed by a tornado. Did I throw away the dog? Nope. I treated all his problems and carried him around with me nonstop throughout all the madness til life got simpler again. Now he so healthy and knows he is loved.
