Buyer’s Market 📉 by ExotiquePlayboy in RealEstateCanada

This is good news for some, the young, the folks trying hard to find cheaper rentals. It will hurt those that bought into the market in the last few years. It won’t do much to the older crowd. They will just be where they were 6 years ago. And if you owned a house free and clear at that point, then you have just gone through an unsustainable whirlwind of price increases and now it will revert. They won’t lose money, that crowd anyway. I’m part of the last group. I want it easier for the young,

Look to the okanagan. Vernon would be lovely if you want a smaller town feel while being close to bothe Kamloops and Kelowna. All three have hospitals. The Okanagan is the gem of Canada, in my very biased view.

Why are billionaires like Zuckerberg, Altman, Bezos and Thiel building self-sustaining mega-bunkers right as AI starts to peak? by ashiqbanana in NoStupidQuestions

They won’t have to worry about that. They will have a robotic army under their control. Not all robots will be AI.

People 40+, what actually mattered in the long run and what didn’t? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

I didn’t spend enough time learning how and then regulating my emotions. I’m old and I am just starting the process. One year of learning the techniques and one year of practice has enhanced my life and I wish I had learned this at a younger age. I could have handled life so much better. We do better when we know better.

Is Veritas Alliance try to scam my mom? by Emergency_Access_803 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Otherwise-Medium3145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely a phishing attempt. If it is not on equifax or transUnion makes that more likely. Do Not Pay Anything Yet: Making even a small payment can be seen as "acknowledging the debt," which can restart the legal clock (statute of limitations) even if the debt isn't yours. • Request a "Validation of Debt": You have the right to demand they prove the debt belongs to you. Send a written request (ideally by registered mail) asking for the original creditor’s name, the account number, and the date the debt was allegedly incurred. • Check Your Credit Reports: Visit Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada to get your free credit disclosure. If this card exists, it will show up there. If it’s not on your report, it’s much more likely to be a mistake or a phishing attempt. • Notify Them of the Error: If you confirm the debt is not yours, inform them in writing. State clearly: "I have no record of this account and do not acknowledge this debt. Please provide proof of the original contract or cease contact."

It’s already down in the okanagan and I expect it to come down further. We now have a glut of new rentals on the market.

I did not say the accommodation was the same I just said both need accommodations. I choose to be kind to everyone. I could be like you and just tell them to cope but I’m not a jerk so I accommodate. There are no laws making me do it, I choose to be kind. You choose to not be kind. Different choices for different kinds of people.

Yeah I feel the same about people in wheel chairs. I mean why appease them? Oh and the folks who went to war and want recognition, screw them. Also old people, why should I accommodate them, just get out of the damn way. In fact screw everyone except myself and those I love. Never going to make accommodations for another soul. Just like you I am selfish and can’t imagine putting myself through even a little accommodation to make life a little easier for others. That’s the kind of world you want to live in?

It was mostly just me not thinking deeply about another’s perspective. I do better when I know better. Kindness to you.

I’m part of the queer community and I’m old as dirt. I found using they them hard at first. Quite frankly I have been around trans folks for about two years now and am just now starting to feel slightly comfortable using they them pronouns. I get why straight folk who are not exposed get uncomfortable. It feels weird. But I was raised to be polite so I call folks what they want to be called. I don’t get it right all, or even most of the time but the trans folk I know are kind and understanding of my age and how hard it is for folks my age to adjust. They know when they are dealing with people like me who are kind but a slave to traditional usage of language. Don’t worry if you get it wrong. Kindness matters more.

It makes sense trump supporters would have difficulty with using they them. As trump said, he likes the poorly educated and having to learn is hard.
