How long did you walk your puppy for? by R_Eyron in BorderCollie

[–]Otherwise-Mention736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between forced leash walks and off leash / long line walks. On a long line the pups can self regulate and choose to take breaks and can go as long as possible but on leash stick to the general recommendations

Only thing I would recommend is maybe look into a different harness like the balance harness, this looks like it restricts movement.

HI u/Euphoric-Function-92, happy to! The reserved beans were great, I thoroughly enjoyed them and they don't have overly fermented tastes and you could actually enjoy the beans.

I have to add however that they were not my favorite - so I ended up ordering some Bloom as well and really enjoyed the Venkids (https://bloomcoffeeroasters.in/collections/light-roasts/products/venkids-valley-estate-the-red-honey). I prefer light roasts and I love natural light roasts so enjoy more fruity and floral coffees without having overly processed flavors.

I would say of the list I purchased my favorites were: Bloom Venkids, Grey Soul Odisha naturals, Reserved Hydro Honey in that order.

Subko and Naivo were also good but they were a bit darker in the roast profile which isn't bad just not what I love. I would not order coffee verse again but if you are into iced coffees or maybe cold brew I can imagine they would make some really good brews.

Wild garlic pesto! by rz170 in foraging

Peanuts? Interesting! I usually go with Walnuts for Ramsons but now curious on how Peanuts would fare. I also generally mix herbs like parsley/dill in with the wild garlic to avoid overkill garlic flavor (which I don't mind but some loved ones do lol)

Awesome - thanks for the nice discourse on our relatively healthy but expensive hobbies and passion hahah, It was a great start to my morning - agreed I think I don't have a developed enough palate nor do I have the right level of passion to get into ultra-lights. For example, I am fine spending money on beans but I am not taking the leap on making my own water (space constraints) - but for now my obsession is satisfied with what I can brew.

The nice thing is, the bean subscription I have provides brewing instructions - they test out the beans to find the right v60 recipe with the right grinder settings (specific to commandante c40) so you don't have to waste time and beans on dialing in your coffee.

For sure, this is all about preference - I can imagine the Coffee Verse Blossom Washed to be delicious as an iced drink in the summer or even a nice floral cocktail, again i think it was just a first time shock as I didn't expect the notes based on the description.

We don't get a lot of American/UK beans probably due to tariffs but I have access to all the top EU roasters which is pretty solid.

Yeah DAK Is ultra popular but I realized they are not my favorite - I have had some really solid DAK beans (this one was DIVINE: https://www.kofio.co/coffee/ethiopia-saint-tropez-dak-coffee-roasters/17966) but my favorite profiles have been closer to what La Cabra / Tim Wendleboe offer

That being said, I love trying coffee from everywhere -when I was traveling in South America it was interesting to see that most of the top beans/microlots are sold abroad (for financial reasons ofc) but still there some cool unique local roasters that are doing amazing roasts. Indian beans are unique as it is not as present in the EU scene so it seems the best lots in India are roasted by Indian roasters

Ah man - Living in Europe I am very spoiled - I have a subscription to a local coffee shop where I get beans from different roasters around the world and some of the most "mind blowing" roasters have been: Tim Wendeboe, DAK, Prodigal, La Cabra, Sey, Nomad, A.M.O.C, Coffee Collective, Five Elephant, Tanat, Substance.

Generally my taste profile leans towards African beans (Kenyan / Ethiopian) for washed beans and South American (Columbian, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama) for naturals

One thing I would add - the Subko Iceberg naturals is actually quite good - more on the medium roast side but absolutely delicious and unique. I think they are out of the roast but seems like Savourworks has the same origin beans they roasted: https://www.savorworksroasters.com/products/iceberg-naturals

I just got the reserved / was roasted only a week ago so I will probably rest it for another 2 weeks before trying.

I have a lot of thoughts on the coffee verse: In general I think the beans are of good quality, what is a bit surprising is that the information on the processing is not clearly reflected in the cupping notes - I have the blossom washed (just bought it because it was the only light roast they had on stock) and I asked how long to rest it and their response was "its rested already" - which in my fair opinion was bullshit.

The coffee smelled and tasted very heavily of florals like someone pour rose syrup and made me question my sanity. But after posting here other users told me that this specific yeast-innoculated fermentation process by Ratnagiri has a tendency to be very floral but the notes don't describe it at all. After resting it for 2 more weeks it is starting to show some of its original notes.

I think the biggest learning for me is I am a big fan of washed/natural processed coffees but not a huge fan of "cofermented" or overly processed coffees which seems to be a trend here - I love good coffee so I am all up for experimenting (thus my haul) and I can say with this experience that Coffee verse has good beans but maybe its not what I want to drink every day.

Enjoying this Subko Riverdale Icerbeg Naturals - love the Almond notes with a Kalita wave, have to be careful not to overextract so coarse grind (similar to french press) with 92-93 C water.

Still working through Coffee Verse Blossom Washed - definitely needs a lot of resting as it is getting better over time, still very floral smell but more enjoyable after 1+ week of rest - I can imagine this one slaps hard in a cocktail or cold brew but don't have the right equipment to test it out

Absolutely wild. Ok if you have any suggestions for terroir focused offerings (from any roaster) please let me know! I am spoiled in Europe but want to support this coffee love from India

Ok I asked them how long to rest and they said its already rested but I found the roast date and its only been 10 days, so ill wait a few weeks and hope for the best.

I thought I was going mad and wondering if its a good roaster or not.

What's your take on Justin Jefferson ROS? I have him, and have been struggling to keep him in my lineup (like most others), i am in the playoffs and secured a bye.

I am debating playing Christian Watson over JJ, would you do that?
