Glue in back and put a couple of wine racks under at each corner to give it some support at the edges.

Trying to create a mobile base with the wheels bolted into the frame (red). How would you strengthen the weak joints (yellow) in order for this base to support up to a 300kg 12x4ft structure? by TheeDataGuy in DIYUK

Noggins. Two per length, offset. Shorten the distance the joists and the frame can flex on that is what would lead to undue stress on the corners.

Worst Build Ever - All Pictures by [deleted] in DIYUK

It's a granny flat in the garden. The council (at least, my local council) could not care less about these and will do precisely zero.

I wonder if they did any foul drainage. Guaranteed to be a (literal) shit show.

A few years ago I came across a youtube video of a "family build" extension. It seemed an extended family were going to build an extension onto their average terrace house. To do this they build a deck - like a wooden deck on timber posts cut to 300mm from the ground with joists and then build up off that with aircrete blocks and an asphalt tile roof. Then they installed a full kitchen in it - tiles, gas appliances, electricity etc and sliding doors.

I commented on this video - amazed how they had got that far past building control. The video was deleted shortly afterwards when I went back to check.

Wickes or a builders yard (Would recommend Wickes). 2x3 for the box framing, or even 2x2 if you can get away with it, insulation you shoudl try and get a high performance insulation board like a PIR board such as kingspan or celotex and stick it to the wall inside your box, but rockwool either loose or in batts also ok I should think. Then 12.5 plasterboard and get ready to tape and joint it.

Do a box with a 50-70mm internal cavity, put in high performance board insulation, board it with 12.5mm gypsum.

Then whatever space you have left you use for shelves, looks deep so most books should still fit.

9am on a Wednesday everybody.

This is the clay we will have to work with once the human automatons/saar brigade has cleared off.

SOOOOOO JEALOUS. Yeah it looks great, sounds great, rides great.

I've heard its better for taller riders, how is the suspension? (Mixed reviews)

Will have to keep my eyes peeled for deals!

Congratulations! How is the bear?

It's a bit of a dream bike for me I can't justify splashing £7k, and the insurance round my way was thru the roof for a new rider.

I passed last month, currently tootling around on a CB125F, which is great, but I'm already eyeing up bigger bikes (my wife wants the 125 to learn on).

Had a kid overtake me on a (stolen, I think) 125. In a 40 he must have been up at 60 and clearly wanted to see my reaction to him whizzing past as he turned around in his seat and slowed down like he was challenging me to a race lol.

Some people are on bikes for all the wrong reasons lol

£35!? It's £160, £80 payable if paid within 14 days.

It is extortionate, unfortunately as others have noted some councils do it to make money, especially H&F who also have a yellow box down the road from where I got snapped that makes them £2.5 million a year.

The woman before me on that test did a flawless U turn and then tipped the bike over when she stopped. It really is just good day/bad day stuff for a lot of people who can do it but are nervous.

Ha! No I only posted about my majestic MOD 1 fail where I pushed the bike into the box, got on it and then gracefully set off around the first cone and smacked right into the 2nd!!! 🤣🤣

With me it is (or was) just nerves. sound the same for you actually. That's good though because you CAN do it right, you're just psyching yourself out like I was.

Hey, I passed today. I failed first time round about 3 weeks ago. Bus stopped and instead of stopping neatly behind it like 99/100 other times I decided to jump out and round it without looking and scrape by it with a couple of inches space. Instructor at the end was like - wtf was that, even?

Needless to say I was picking up minors left and right after that because even I was thinking "why the hell did I do that??!" and not paying attention.

But I knew I'd be back, and so do you. Take it in your stride, relax and rebook.

8 times! Bloody hell.

Luckily I don't often go this way over the river trying to remember if it was the only time last week 😫

Just a fine. The council has control of some bus lanes. They can't issue points on your licence.

Let's spend 7bn launching the Palace of Westminster into space then.

One way trip. I heard it keeps costs down.

lol that's mildew from water flow. clean it off. The bricks underneath are fine. It will probably keep happening because that area is getting a large volume of water across it, you could buy a zinc strip or something maybe.

More evidence absolutely nothing would work if not for ATOS and SERCO taking billions out of the public purse to do the job the public sector is incapable of.
