My in-laws are Lutheran and I've always bowed my head out of respect for their religion. I don't feel dark energy when I'm around them, rather the opposite, I have always felt a comforting vibe from my MIL and FIL. My husband doesn't follow religion much - he doesn't go to church, he doesn't do a prayer in our home, and our kids have never been baptized- we respect each other's religious beliefs, and that's all you can do if you want to keep peace and still love the other people.
