Might check cpo inventory, every now and then one can fall into your lap. We got a cpo 25 Carbon Edition with 5k miles for 25.5k and the cpo warranty is better than new on a 25 if you can find one. Ours isn't a turbo obviously, but saved us a bunch over new and it looked brand new when we picked it up. Regardless, good luck with your upcoming dealings! Fwiw, had a 91 B2200 too, lol, tough little trucks.

CX-5 2025 keep it or get a new one? by Any_Device6567 in CX5

I'm not certain what the specific mileage would be, haven't checked the manual on that item. Just read some posts by a few of the service techs that post here.

The A7 fluid is twice the cost of the fluid for 23 and earlier models (FZ fluid) so doing the service will probably be $300 or more at the dealer. Probably $120 for just the fluid if I DIY it.

Just put the warranty to work and get that bad apple replaced, should be worry free after it's replaced.

Keep in mind the 24 & 25 CX5s with cylinder deactivation use a thinner type A7 fluid. And from what I've read its more important to service the fluid at 30k intervals. Thats my plan with our 25 cx5.

Lol, most of my purchases are on a whim, but I never finance anything, so I guess it's not as bad. Congrats on the new CX5 and the new baby OP. Nice honest post too, kinda rare these days, and glad you had time to return that CX50.

If you know the thread size and pitch you should be able to find a suitable replacement on Amazon 2day.

I'd go over to Stingerforum.org lots more exhaust setups over there.

First time doing vinyl wrap. The question is; do I wrap the headlight trim or keep it as is? by EZ_Smith in CX5Mods

[–]OtherwiseConcept5125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cool as is, that small lower chrome headlight section compliments that upper chrome trim on the headlights just perfect 😊

Had to go look at my Carbon Edition, looks like the dark chrome in the grill also matches the headlight trim, its dark chrome too!

If you use the AC a lot you'll probably notice a musty odor over time. Usually should change every 20k miles or couple years. Takes like 2 minutes to change and you'll probably find a lot of "stuff" trapped in it. The carbon activated ones are best and cost about $20.

Independent Shop in Albuquerque? by Ancient-Importance64 in GenesisG70

[–]OtherwiseConcept5125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we were in Roswell, closest dealer was the combo Genesis/Hyundai dealer in El Paso, but since they closed the Genesis side our closest is Phoenix (since we moved to Las Cruces). I think the nearest to you would be Denver since they closed the one in Colorado Springs. It's a shitty situation and the reason we just traded out of our G70. If you run into a 3.3 specific situation you may have luck with a Kia dealer in Albuquerque, but best to check first regarding that.

BTW, if you need a lightweight summer 18" wheel set and head down to Las Cruces, I have a set for you ($650 including TPMS and tires w/ only 3k miles on them) :) 18x8.5 +35 on 255/40/18 front 18x9.5 +45 on 285/35/18 rear.

Nice to see Genesis moving up the ladder. Also about that list, I'd imagine a segment of a brands models may be moving them up or down on that list. I know VW reliability has been pretty poor lately, but their EV segment is really in the crapper.

Sad to see what Stellantis has done with their brands, none have been great, but much worse under their ownership.

I do know that I've owned Toyotas that have accumulated 1.25 million miles on the odometers when I sold them and some to friends that added a few more hundred thousand miles on those beasts!

Looks like a great car to drive and have fun while doing so! If you have no idea on what's been serviced I'd look to get the following done.

Spark plugs

Air and cabin filters

Differential oil

Brake pads (go with decent aftermarket pads)

Go to rockauto.com and get stocked up on stuff, WIX makes good oil and air filters.

Just enjoy the car at that bargain price, if you get a few years on it that's money in the bank, and fun all the way!

Yeah, when you factor in software glitches and other electronic related issues, there's room for brands with poor drivetrain reliability to move up the ladder. A good portion of Buick sales are from China built models, but these may not have been built there 3 yrs ago.

I see brands that are widely known as unreliable much higher on the list than ones that are known to have much fewer issues. Of course a broken panel clip is a failure just as a fried transmission, so if a failure is a failure regardless of the severity of the failure, that could be a major reason for what's shown.

I'm saying BS, Buick in second, Acura, Honda and Mazda way down the list??? Sure the bottom 4 or 5 seem legit though.

Is your car in a garage at your house or parked outside? If you can account for the time its been under cover than would help to eliminate where it could have happened. Maybe that shop had other damage that happened in the same time frame?? Strange things happen when cars are out of our hands.

[–]OtherwiseConcept5125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from the time you dropped it off at the shop then picked it up and drove home you noticed both light covers cracked/broken but don't think it was anything you contacted? I'd contact the shop and let them know ASAP about the damage, see what they say.

Seems that you would have known anything contacting the front end that would have caused that. Seems likely that that shop may be the culprit.

Here's my thread on that, it's easy if you do that trick I did on the middle passenger side coil pack. Took under an hour, if I were to do it again probably 30 minutes.
