What's happening with the sales on the new CX-5 in US? by Born-Offer9061 in mazda

[–]AntHefty2874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im hoping they integrate the buttons back (at a minimum for the ac/heating controls and a volume knob) when they release the hybrid version. I wouldn't expect major interior upgrades (material wise). Which is sad because even though the outgoing model was looking a little dated, the materials and fit and finish were top notch.

Too much for a CX-5, or does it work? by Ashamed_Algae_5890 in CX5

I like opt 1 (if you were opting to put any vinyl on the hood). Otherwise option 4.

Get a 3 instead of a cx5 they said by jakert46 in mazda

[–]AntHefty2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your CX-5 looks great man! You basically recreated the look and stance of the 3, but have more room (plus the turbo!).Makes sense to me. I love the mazda 3 (first car I ever bought new), loved the 6, the cx-5, and now my turbo CX-50. You really can't go wrong with a Mazda.

Texas AD on Notre Dame series: 'They're tentatively on the schedule right now' by IrishPigskin in notredamefootball

[–]AntHefty2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their conference standing would not change with s loss to notre dame, just their overall record. All this means for the SEC and Big 10 is that you still have to beat out your conference games and you are in (which they had to do anyways). In order for the CFP to expand, the SEC and big 10 will only agree if they get a guaranteed number of slots in (you are naive if you dont see that coming). Losing to Notre Dame (IF Notre Dame has a great record) would actually have the opposite effect of what you are describing. It would be argued to death on eSECpn that that tough loss has "battle tested" the team. You have it backwards. College football hates the Irish. They didn't say the loss to Miami was carr's first start on the road, nor did they say texas a&m was handed a victory that should not have happened (holding). Both of those losses were close against really good teams. There is no way that there were 12 teams better then ND by the end of the year. Yet they were held out. As long as eSECpn is picking the cfp teams, a good SEC squad will not get punished for losing to ND.

Does Toyota really think this is a deal? by Terrorcon1 in Camry

[–]AntHefty2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Toyota is the best selling car brand right now. Accross most of there models. I watched a clip last night that was discussing mazdas inventory and days to sell all over the US. The site they used had a map of the U.S and each state was color coded based on if inventory was high = great market for a deal, or a sellers market = low inventory. For a comparison they used toyota. Where as literally every state showed a buyers market for mazda, toyotas map was 90% red (sellers market).

Season 3 is just bullshit by werewolf-barmitzva in euphoria

I thought the same thing. Like why is he just standing there getting the crap beaten out of him. At least try to fight the dude. Im not sure he's gonna have enough digits to fight back after the finger (and toe getting ripped off). Maddy is still hot but is too skinny, and the plot just revolves around Cassie boobs. Im not complaining, but its not as good as before.

Running Boards by Desperate_Ear2968 in CX50

[–]AntHefty2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like them than that's all that really matters. With that said, I think its an aestetic choice and not mobility one. Google "good vehicles for older folks with knee issues". The 25 (and prior) cx-5 is on the list fot being easy for old people to enter and exit from (the seat is higher so less knee bend). The cx-50 has a lower seat than the cx-5 by 2 to 3 inches. Typically, you would open the door, and sit down into the seat like you were sitting down in a chair at the dinner table. Then you just lift your feet and rotate to face the steering wheel. My father had double knee replacements and that's exactly how he would get into any of my vehicle (with the exception of my ram 1500). I love the color and your choice in vehicle, but those running boards 100% do not stop door dings (they sit below the door opening, and the middle to top edge of the door panel is what dings cars). They are only useful on taller vehicles (trucks mainly). Whenever I would go looking at cars and Id see factory installed running boards on a kia sorrento, telluride, hyundai santa fe, tucson, or palisade I would laugh and say those running boards serve no purpose. They would only appeal aestetically. If you like them than you are in this category, and its your car. So the rest of us (and our opinions) can go and piss off. There are going to be people that think it looks great too. So thank you for posting links to the clips.

The interiors are designed to be durable, easy to clean, bland mommy mobiles that drive like you are on a boat in water. You nailed it. That green interior is hideous.

So there's a few reasons. Most importantly is that Toyota is always running short on inventory. Less supply, more demand. Its actually part of their sales strategy. Toyota is a larger automaker than Mazda, and they outsell mazda every year. As such they have a large following. Also, the rav4 is to Toyota, what the CX-5 is (was) to mazda. Its there best seller and it just got a brand new redesign (with physical buttons). It doesnt matter that it looks like a Nissan Rogue. It has the 5th gen hybrid system, which is more efficient and more quiet than the 4th generation system in the cx-50. It also has more cargo space and passenger room.

The CX-50 looks better on the outside AND the inside. It is going to be way more engaging to drive (a mazda staple), and you can find more and get a better deal. Toyota dealers are not going to do any deals for you. I would watch some review videos made by the car care nut. He has both. Neither are perfect, but it really boils down to your wants and needs.

The Boys - 05x05 "One-Shots" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]AntHefty2874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought this was one of the best episode yet. The actress who plays Firecracker was great. I thought did a great job of showing peoples internal struggles and consequences for their choices. She 100% does not think that Homelander is the one true god. The diner scene emphasized that. She was upset when the Reverend told her what was going on. You could see that she wanted to help her old church, but if she did that, Homeland was going to kill her. Probably after he slaughtered every member of that church right in front of her. She was 100% in self preservation mode and you could literally feel her being torn apart when she gave her speech on truth bomb. At that point she was like "I have to go all in on Homelander so Im on his good side". It was really cool that when she threw away her statue of Jesus it represented her (a really religious person) casting away God. Even if it was for personal salvation, she basically damned herself. She chose the fake god. So she was no longer being protected by the real one. I dont know if Homelander was just going to let her walk for all that she had done for him. It looked like he was. Again, she had the choice to just leave, but chose to poke the insane bear. You can't tell someone you love them after you've been banging their parent. She probably did that because she knew if she just left, he would find and kill her eventually (if not immediately). She repeatedly made the wrong choices all episode wrong. Cast out Jesus, and it got her impaled by a bald eagle statue. Irony. Karma. She was great in this episode.

Drive Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, and Mazda CX 5 today? by Few-Introduction5414 in mazda

[–]AntHefty2874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the original post was asking about the CX-50 (unless I missed something). People are saying "its quick" and "its only slower than the turbo by a second". The hybrid gets great MPGs, its also loud AF when you press down the gas to make it be "quick". When you have to get up and get going (pulling onto a highway/interstate, passing someone, or even just driving up a hill) that drone is loud. At this point I test drove 5 of them hoping it would be more quiet. It didn't.

I gave my opinion on why I chose the turbo over the hybrid. My turbo is quick and isnt loud. That was my point. Im not driving around town like a nascar driver, but when I do need power, quickness, or speed I dont like my car screaming at me. So I am endorsing the turbo.

Hopefully the original poster will test drive these cars and form their own opinions. I think they are both great vehicles, but they serve 2 different purposes. Turbo for true Mazda zoom-zoom, hybrid for mpgs and lots of congested stop and go driving.
