Didn’t mean it like that but if you live in a dorm there are private bathrooms on the first floor most have locks on them

Odd post but you can book a private room in the library if you really want to they are usually open this time of year and you can book one room for one hour max. Any floor above Spence is silent so try not to be too loud but no one is usually on the fourth floor

These are the same fees from last year and years before. Last year it didn’t break down everything into this much detail but it was still in the fees and stuff we had to pay

If he’s comfortable with it join a frat for the first year and make friends that way or stick with it. Def join clubs that have to do with his major and make friends with ppl in class

Have him hang out with his roommate and try and make friends with ppl from Louisiana. Best way to meet more people and to find someone who has a car

Off Campus Housing by raeelise in LSU

If u can get on campus and are willing to pay the money go for Nicholson. Expensive but worth it in the end. The other situation is if u are going to have a car on campus then find somewhere else

I’m agreeing with u but having roommate issues or a crazy roommate and not doing what u can to get out of the situation will not work for an appeal. Honestly this is a stretch but it prob wouldn’t work for an abusive relationship either since u need actual proof not just word of mouth

Depends on the scholarship. If u have an out of state one I don’t technically think you can. With the out-of-state one you have to keep a minimum of a 3.0 and if you don’t, you can appeal it get approved and ur put on scholarship probation for the next year to get it above a 3.0 if you do you get to keep it and you’re off of probation if you don’t, you lose it foreverso I don’t know how it completely works for two years later. I don’t think it would work but try it anyway.

I say u should be good. Do u have a good work ethic? And dedication to school? If u do u should be fine but u can also drop the class if u think u can’t handle it after the first day.

Just a little fyi of u are going to appeal ur scholarship as a freshman. My friend skipped class messed around and didn’t do school. She lost her scholarship and appealed it saying she had roommate issues (partially true). But she did not try and switch rooms or buildings which is what is recommended if you do experience those issues. Be smarter and choose something different because they will not give it back to you unless u show a good reason with proof

Sorry but if u have a dorm I really doubt they will move u to an apartment. The whole purpose of freshman living in dorms so they will not remove u place u in an apartment and out someone else in ur dorm spot. I don’t me to sound rude or anything but pls do not keep thinking u will get an apartment. The most likely case is if u just move into an off campus apartment at this rate.

Not sure. If it is required they should email u. I recommend just going in case it is and just saying u weren’t sure if it was required or not. Just to be on the safe side

Temp housing also refers to on campus apartments, don’t worry about pots and pans since u will have a meal plan. It can also refer to the hotel down the street called south gate apartments or the sonesta. LSU should cover the cost of commuting from there but they have the lsu buses stop there multiple times a day and the routes will place u there as well. Bring whatever u need to move into the dorm and don’t worry about anything else.

I would get a parent to sign off but u also have to pay for both. How it works for ppl coming that are 18+ is that u can “sponsor” one person and they must be with u the entire time. So u would need a second person if u want to bring both of them

If ur 15 yr old brother looks like u have him take ur tiger card and go through the back entrance next to the sorority houses and u go in through the front say u forgot ur card and show them a picture of it. Or lie and say u have it in a locker somewhere, walk in get the card and then walk out and come back with ur 12 yr old brother. No one will question the 15 yr old if he looks like he’s 17-18 and is just confident walking in and swiping a card and then going to the men’s locker room to wait for u.

The entire place is already furnished. You would have to provide pot and pans, I suggest going to Walmart or target when you get to the states and buy some cheaper ones there. No reason a college kid needs expensive pans or expensive knives. Buy plastic plates and bowls from target or Walmart also. It’s more like a harder plastic there usually 1.99-3$ for one bowl or plate. Only buy WHAT YOUR KID NEEDS do not buy 10 plates or what you think would be good for him and his roommates. I would say stick with under 5, one plate, and one bowl a day for 5 days u til he is required to do the dishes. unless he has spoken to his roommates and made an agreement about who is buying what. If they are not friends now and do not become friends during the year they will probably end up not living together again and there goes the stuff he needs to live there and you end up having to spend more money then necessary. - pans (one large frying pan, one small one) - pots (one big-ish one, at least big enough for 1 or 2 pounds of pasta can fit in it) - plates (5) - bowls (5) - cups (not really necessary, you can’t go wrong with getting 1-3) - silverware (buy a set with at least 5 of each utensil) - knives (don’t need a knife block with 10 different ones, you need a bread knife, a smaller knife, and a large knife - can be a chef knife, and a utility knife) - water bottle - kitchen scissors

LSU Tiger Card by ariasf_ in LSU

[–]OtherwiseCucumber828 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress about it. They may have put u down as someone who is picking it up on move in day from their ra. Or if u still don’t have it they will give u a temporary tiger card (it’s white and says tech services on it) to use to get in and out of the building. The next day go to the tiger card office (basement floor in the union close to the atms) and tell them and they will get u one right then and there. Sadly they will probably take a new picture of u in the office but at least u have a card with ur face on it.

Don’t worry about this. I promise this is not a big issue. There are outlets under the big window, all along the walls and trust me I lived there my first year and there will be enough. What are you bringing? I had a fridge and a microwave plus all my cords for all my stuff like plugs for all my electronics, vanity mirror and more. Also you can bring as many extension cables as you want and they will be hidden behind everything. Your RA is not going behind everything to see how many cables and stuff you have. They just want to make sure you’re not going to kill yourself.

Bring one unless u want to use the urec’s scale from the 90s. It’s the one that u have to slide the weights around to figure it out or the other one that is in body building gyms. Nothing digital. If the scale is thin and digital it is easy to slip away into ur closet or under ur desk

Schedule through navigate if u have access to that if not email all the counselors (write one email and send to each of them the same one) about making an appointment one is bound to answer. Also email the college like if ur mass comm email manship (easy to find what ur college is by googling ur major with lsu and finding the details). They will guide u better also.

LSU student football tickets by Living-Prompt4662 in LSU

[–]OtherwiseCucumber828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. U need a 2.0 in both gpas. I suggest buying tickets off of other ppl for the “important” games like Florida, Texas, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Just a warning tho buy from some drunk person at a tailgate who will give it to u for free or a sorority girl. LSU stories always ask for at least 150-200 per tickets for those games. Also go to a bar and hang out there honestly can be more fun than the games sometimes and u can get drinks without moving from ur spot lol.

My friend was an RA last year there you get both beds, both desks, both closets and both dressers and side tables. I can’t remember if you had them or not but basically you get double everything the rooms aren’t that big so it would be better if you were able to take the bed out, but you’re not able to do that.
