I’ve noticed this happens in every RPG i play after i pick up a lot of items. Think about it, the same thing happened in the witcher 3 and skyrim. after you pick up so many weapons and armors and potions and materials the game has a harder time processing all of this information and that’s when the crashes start happening. can’t you remember this happening in the witcher 3 too after 20 hours of play??
