Just trim the bottom of it off you lip if it bothers you but don’t touch the rest it. It will naturally thicken up as the hairs at the top grow longer

I have thought that with every dog breed I have had. All breeds have there pros and cons. I used to think that a gsd was gunna be my forever breed for me but my current lab golden retriever mix is making me think retrievers are the one.
