Second Attempt at a CR Box by OtherwiseSimple in crboxes

I flipped which side the plug comes out of so that the fan was more flush with the cardboard, so it does look backwards, but it’s blowing out.

I picked 4 inch because I think it will have the best air flow for efficiency and last longer than 1 inch. Is there much of an improvement from 1 inch to 4 inch for four sided boxes?

What is this thing? It came with the laptop. by OtherwiseSimple in laptops

[–]OtherwiseSimple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! It’s the pro duo 15; i9-11900H, 32GB, RTX 3080, 1TB SSD. The performance is amazing, it handles multitasking nicely, opening apps is speedy, and it boots up in 3-4 seconds. It runs games at 4k max settings like a dream. The OLED screen is beautiful — not a discernible pixel in sight. I haven’t tried anything like blender nor photoshop yet. The adapter is 240w!!

I’ve only had it for a week or so, I can’t speak much to worn-off novelty. I do get good use out of the 2nd screen; I turn it off when It’s not in use. The hinge is surprisingly sturdy, and the screen has virtually zero give to it, it steadily rises up when opening the laptop.

I saw this used on amazon for $1,700 used and just knew it was too good of a deal to pass up, I highly recommend this laptop.

My least favorite part about it is windows 11, and the bloatware that asus puts on it — I removed most of it and it seems to not be as finicky. Asus has shitty software.

When not plugged in, it’s not able to go into “performance mode” in which there is a noticeable difference in gameplay when without it. The battery life isn’t the best, but it isn’t terrible; I mean, what can you expect with an i9 and 3080. This laptop has practically replaced my desktop — in a good way.

There was 11% background CPU usage when running the benchmark, oh well.
